Ok, how does it work? When people grow up and eventually "come out of the closet" had they always been "gay" and finally decided to tell people, or was it the way they were raised or certain aspects in life that has changed them and they turned "gay?"

Hmm.. Sometimes it can be psychological. Some are born like that, but it could be how they grew up. My boyfriend lived in a house where his mom always yelled at him and slapped him a lot, and his dad was never home, so that may have made his mind to turn him off to ladies.

I have been straight but have had many people as friends and acquaintances who are gay or bisexual over the time. As far as I have seen sexuality is less influenced by parents and more by the envioronment and exposure a person grows to an adult from a child. Exposure to porn and aspects like that also make a big influence in this issue.

As far as your question 'born gay?' is concerned. Science says that animals have showed 'gay' qualities quite often. Its still not proved whether those are infuenced by emotional needs or physical. As man is a type of animal the research continues.

Usually, it is hereditary. Could be one is exposed to a person over long periods of the sex abuse. But most of the Gay person's habits come from being born that way. It wasn't your parents, but could be a hidden gene from your Ancestor's somewhere along the line. Could have been a female, or a male that carries the homosexual gene. I know a neighbor woman who says she/he has both sex organs. Her Mother told me that. She chooses to led a gay life. So what can parents do when that happens? It's just a mistake in nature. It is not God's fault or the parents. So do the best you can.

Forgive us for seeming tired of the question. It comes up hourly, sometimes intended abusively. Not your fault.

Some always knew they were gay, some tried not to be gay because of parental or social pressure) but were miserable, some discovered later in life that they were gay. No one can be "turned gay" (and believe me, many have tried), any more than one can be turned straight.

All THREE.

1 - Immune responses in the mothers womb.
2 - Genetics. The more older brothers, the greater the chance to be gay. I have 5 older brothers, and I'm gay. Big surprise.
3 - Possibly (possibly) some Nurture plays a minimal role. It won't be alot though.

No one is born Gay. It's just perversion and entertaining those thoughts of the opposite sex that make you that way. Everyone has those thoughts occasionally just you have to fight them in order to not be that way. My best friend is a lesbian and she told me once how she was sexually molested by her mother when she was little. Over 99% of homosexuals were molested by someone close to them as a child, It's sad but true. I love my friend, she's a good person once you get to know her but I believe the Bible and God wouldn't see homosexuality as wrong if you were just born that way. Basically homosexuality is a slap in the face to the one who created you. And despite what the liberal media has to say I'm sticking by what I know to be right.

I dont buy into the born gay thing. Yeah, some probably are. But not everyone. Some people are born gay, some are not. Some very well might pick it up from their upbringing.

I thought this question had been resolved years ago. People are born gay. Nobody, given a choice, would rather be gay than straight. Why make life harder than it already is?

scientific proof has found out that if you're gay you are BORN that way. If anything I suspect that most try to conform to how family (for sure) and friends expect them to be but when they just can't take it anymore they "come out".

It's a combination of nature and nurture just as heterosexuality is too.
