Hi all. I have just completed my first month of Yaz birth control pill (today I will take my 3rd pill of the second packet). My period consisted of dark discharge and some very light spotting and it occurred Thursday (last inactive pill) through Friday (first active pill of this packet). I am not sure when I was supposed to expect my period anyway, so I am not sure if that was late or early or what.
Also, here is the catch: I had sex two weeks ago today (on Jan 14) and we used the pull out method (I know i know, unwise...) but i get the sense that my partner accidently let some out because he seemed unusually concerned about whether i was on bcps. To add to the problem, I am currently taking tetracycline, and I am not sure by how much this decreases Yaz's effectiveness and whether or not I should be concerned about the tetracycline. All these factors combined make me incredibly nervous. Sorry for the long question, but I am a little anxious.

Sweetie, please, please get to your doctor and tell him/her all of this or at LEAST do a home pregnancy test. Whether or not it would be normal to have a period like this on your particular birth control, it is worth the price of a test to either a) have peace of mind or b) know you're pregnant while you still have options.
My best friend in college got pregnant and stayed in denial until she was 5 months along. By that point, there is no good option left to you.
You need to take a pregnancy test, or even better, see your doctor. Good luck and take care of yourself - and make your partners wear rubbers from now on, so you don't have to be scared again, ok? *hugs* I wish you all the best!

I would take a pregnancy test too. Pulling out? Haha....don't you know that before a man fully ejaculates, he actually has some come out before that? Of course you can get pregnant like that. Anyway, birth control pills don't take effect right away either, so, another worry. Just take a test and you'll know. If it's negative, and you still don't get your period, take another one in a week or so. Or just go to your doctor.

Hi

Well i think that you should just take a test to make sure anyway its the only way you are going to know for sure. Also you dont want to keep taking the pill if you are pregnant.

Good Luck :-)

Call your dr. If you are on tetracycline, it's not a good idea to become pregnant.

You need to take a pregnancy test. Your pills weren't even fully effective yet and pulling out doesn't prevent pregnancy even when done "correctly"
