Please could anyone tell me what the mathematical term for MEAN is. What is MEAN

yes it is a terminology when discussing average. There are three differnt words
mean mode and median.
so if you are looking at a group of numbers
lets say shoe sizes, the number in your class for instance
say then the median is the number that falls exactly in the middle of the numbers
so if you have a range of sizes from 2-8 then the median is 5
the mode is the one you have most of so if more people wear size 4 than any other size that is the mode.
the mean is the total of all the values of shoe sizes divied by the number of people surveyed.


but the mean is the average so you add together all the numbers
