Science deals with hypothesis, theories, and results. The observations above haven't been "proven"; usually, science cannot "prove" things because there are so many anecdotal occurrences outside the realm of science that happen for reasons unknown to science, or, at least, unexplained by science. Biology can show that the last two reduces the occurrence of the flu, or relieves the symptoms of the common cold, but, inconclusively. If there were a cure, it would be on the market. I believe that is only what you do; create an experiment to "study" whether it is indeed a FACT, not simply a guess, or hypothesis. Does that make sense? I know that chicken soup relieves nasal congestion, due to inhalation of steam, but, that is the extent of my knowledge. Is that only common to chicken soup, or all soups? Perhaps you could study that. As for the flu; vitamin C? I doubt it, otherwise, they wouldn't be developing antibodies for each year's common flu viruses, nor a drug for the bird flu. So, maybe stick with the soup. Astrology is another form of religion, and science cannot prove a religion. Nicotine is a drug; I don't believe there are studies out there that can help you "prove" or help you design an observation to help prove this theory; otherwise, you wouldn't have the tobacco industry testifying in Congress it didn't cause cancer. Good luck! :)
