Hey it will be my first time gettin a bikini wax I am 17 yrz old and I am just wondering how much does this hurt. Also what happens when you are there. Like seriously do you get aroused or is it a weird vibe. Umm along these lines I am planning to get a tattoo on right were my pubes are and Im wondering if anyone ever got one then and if it hurt too. Thanks a lot , I will be waiting for answers. One more thing if you are from New York can you suggest a place to go and do it. SMochhez

First bikini waxes usually hurt the most. Just relax as much as possible and try to focus on how sexy you're going to feel when it's done. I've never gotten aroused during a waxing session. I've never had a weird vibe because I know that the person doing the wax is a professional. They'll usually put some type of external analgesic on your skin afterwards

I imagine that getting a tattoo would hurt more than the wax. I have one on my shoulder that didn't hurt at all, but where you're getting yours is much more sensitive skin. I wouldn't do it right after getting the wax; I'd wait a few days.

Good luck!

The best advice I can give for minimizing the pain of a bikini wax is: find someone who knows how to do it well! I know this sounds obvious, but I've had tons of bikini waxes with lots of different aestheticians, and trust me, there is definitely good technique and bad technique.

The girl who's doing the waxing should ask you how the temperature of the wax feels (to make sure it's not burning your skin); she should hold your skin taut and pull the wax strip off quickly and smoothly. I've found that it also helps when they apply pressure to the area with their hands immediately after yanking the hair out.

Bikini waxes are never fun, but they hurt less the more you do them, and if you don't wait for the hair to get super long between waxes. Try to find a waxing aesthetician through a positive recommendation from a friend. Good luck!
