You take the current year and add the B.C. year to it. e.g. 2000 B.C. + 2007 = 4007 years ago.

B.C. means before Christ and A.D. means Anno Domini (Latin for the year of our Lord). Nowadays, people are starting to use CE and BCE in an effort to be "politically correct". CE means common era and BCE means before common era.

Just add the BC amount - 2000 - to the current year - 2007 - and you get 4007, which is the total number of years between then and now. It is just a matter of using simple arithmetic

2000 B.C. was 4007 years ago.

Its 2007 A.D. now so 2007 + 2000 = 4007

If something was from 3004 B.C. then it would be 2007 + 3004 +5011 years old
