when you need to get to slope intercept form from linear equation form you have to basically solve for y. so in this equation:

y + 4x = 2
- 4x - 4x
y = - 4x + 2 => slope intercept form

hope that helps. you said you didn't want the answer so i used a differnt example.

First you want to multiply to eliminate parenthesis. 3y-3x = -2x + 6. Add 3x to both sides to get y on one side of the equation, and you have 3y = x + 6. Divide both sides by 3 to isolate y, and you get y = 1/3x + 2. The slope of the equation is 1/3, and the y intercept is 2.

all you have to do is rearange the equation so you get y on its own so take off -3x from both sides

take out -3x by adding it to both sides.
