I have fair skin but I tan very easily (partially Serbian). I stopped tanning (booths) because I thought it was damaging me too much. I've heard about mystic tanning but it's expensive. I also heard about Jergens Daily Glow, which I've gotten mixed reviews about. What do you guys think I should do? I've gotten all these good/bad reviews and I'm not sure what to do now.

ok guys, I'm not going au-natural so stop advising me to do so. And I don't have time to sit outside or go to the beach.

Would tanning at a salon twice a week be extremely harmful Or decent?

dont use tanning booths. good for you for quiting that. its soooo bad for your skin. that jergens stuff is pretty good. i know a lot of people that use it. its good because its gradual. so i you have to keep using it to get to the tan you want. i use the face one and i like that. mystic tanning is good too but you're right its expensive. lasts about a week. i would say thats good for an event but not on a regular basis. also, wehn summer comes back around, use tanning oils with SPF. even if its only 4. use it! the oil helps keep your skin hydrated and the SPF is better than nothing. trust me, my mom had skin cancer and you dont want to deal with that later.

I've tried it all. Spray tans make you look like a tangerine. I liked the daily glow, but it is a lot of upkeep and even if you let it dry it comes off on all your clothesI(especially bras and panties) when you shed layers of skin. It does look natural though. Tanning is so bad, but that's the only thing that works for me. I know I'll probably regret it when I have skin cancer later in life. I try to limit how often I go(only in late Spring and Summer) and I get a good base tan then only go once a week or so to keep it up. This is definitely not the best decision health-wise. Although, my mom's doctor reccomends going once a week in the winter to avoid seasonal depression...who knows, maybe it's just a game of moderation.

The song "Ain't Nothin' Like The Real Thing Baby" comes to mind when I read this. I too, tan easily and have stopped tanning booths for the same reason. I have to tell you that I've heard there are great self tanners out there, but I've yet to find one. I hate them! What I do, and therefore my adivice is to wear a low SPF (4-6) and get natural sun in moderation. A real natural golden glow looks great and I don't think it is harmful. There isn't any need to bake in the sun. Good luck!

Jergens daily glow works great if you want subtle tanning in the winter. Neutragena micro mist is another good choice its in an aerosol can so its easy to apply .You can also buy a system similar to mystic tan at sally's beauty supply called salon bronze it works great also. The color is more brown than orange so it looks more natural.

jergens daily glow works good, I use the deep kind. I also would suggest using a product called "loreal sublime bronze sunless tanning lotion in DEEP. It also is tinted (the tinted one works way better then the lotion or gel) I use it a couple times a week, then on the other days i use the jergens because its more subtle and moisturizes well.

i too have fair skin. i have freckles and i burn easily. needless to say ive never been much of a sun worshipper. i am now 40 and compared to my friends who enjoyed having the perfect tan all those years....i have very few wrinkles!
so...i would recommend the jergens daily glow or something like it if you want the color without the damage :)

Just go natural. Once you start that tanning crap, you just have to upkeep it constantly. It looks fake anyway.
