I think you should go with what you like. But, personally, and possibly because I'm an old timer, I don't feel comfortable with the name Emerson. In the end though, your daughter will decide; either she'll accept it (willingly or unwillingly) or reject it completely. That's life. Would be nice if your husband agreed with your choice though. It might be a heartbreaker for you if he later sides with your daughter when she wants to call herself Rose instead of Emerson. Kids are very insecure and they'll do that to you whether you like it or not. Peer pressure in the form of teasing about one's name can be a very powerful influence.
Don't know much about names, so I'm probably not the best person to get an opinion from. Also haven't personally had much luck with names. I named my daugher Michelle Christine, and the Michelle part got broken into two names (some of her kid friends called her Micky and others called her Shelly). She didn't personally dislike the name Michelle, and goes by it as an adult. It's just what happened to her as a kid. So be prepared. No telling what's in store for you or your daughter.
Because the name Emerson ends with the syllable "son," it carries a masculine connotation to me. If your daughter's experience is anything like my daughter's experience, her kid friends will call her Emmy and Sunny. There's also the possibility that your daughter won't like the name Emerson, and ask her friends to call her Rose. A heart breaker I know. But kids will be kids. Rosie Golden has quite a ring to it. It sounds a little like it could be the name of a celebrity. As a kid, your daughter might find that appealing. Later in life, as an employee or business owner, I can also see the possibility of the name Goldie catching on (because of the last name Golden), especially if she's very successful either as an employee or business owner.

Emerson is a boy's name. And that whole name together, Emerson Rose Golden, sounds like she'll/he'll be a senior citizen right out the womb.

It's a beautiful name, but think about your child's future, when they start school, and all of the comments they might get on their name. One bad thing about "Emerson" is that it is also a boy's name. But the good thing is, there are a lot of cute nicknames for "Emerson Rose".
1. Emmie or Emmy
2. Emmy Rose
3. Mimi
4. Em
5. Sonny or Sunny
6. Sunny Rose
7. Rosie
8. Ro-ro
I love the name, though!

I don't know why people think Emerson sounds likes a boy's name. Its a last name! But if you like that style of name, I think it is a good choice for a girl. Something to think about though is there are a lot of kids named Emma and Emily so her name might blend in easily. I like a name that stands out a little more.

How about Emma Rose Golden? I just think it flows more nicely and sounds softer than Emerson.

That is a beautiful name. Emerson makes it unique, Rose makes it pretty. With so many freaking Jennifers in the world, you should go for it.
Edit: Okay, so there might be a little teasing at first. But it will pay off in the end, when your child isn't mixed up with anyone else in the world. Who wants a name that too many people have? People named something like Jane Smith get an inferiority complex when they feel that they aren't special enough in this giant ball containing 6 billion people and counting.

I named my daughter Emerson Rose and I LOVE IT! I've gotten so many compliments on her name, too. We call her Emmy for short. GOOD CHOICE!
