Hi, I'd like some guidance on where to go in San Francisco for an extremely fun upscale night out. Fabulous Dinner with views of Golden Gate/ City and then out to club with great house or latin music, lots of drinking, dancing with a goal of going home in a cab...

Thanks so much for your suggestions!

Also look into a day or night cruise. I cant recommend one place to eat as there are so many. I tend to like the older places that arent just for tourist etc.....

0nly one place really fits this description: Top of the Mark. It's one of the highest points in the city (in the Mark Hopkins Hotel on top of Nob Hill) so the views are fantastic, which is why the girls went up there to watch their navy sweethearts sail away in WWII. Now they have high tea in the afternoons, and alternate a swing band with salsa dancing upscale club-style in the evenings. Plenty of five star restaurants within walking distance on Nob Hill or in the Union Square area to choose from - Masa, Big Four, Charles Nob Hill, Postrio, Laurel Court, dining room at the Ritz Carlton, etc. Definitely upscale and a very pricey, but well worth it. Enjoy!

Stay away from Fisherman's Wharf. It's just a tourist trap.

You're going to love it!

Try this local newspaper for reviews on clubs and restaurants. And don't forget to venture an hour North, on Hwy 101 and visit beautiful Sonoma County for some great wines.
