When I have dry skin, I like wet my face a little, get a wet and soft towel and gently scrub off the skin. Then I rinse off my face. After that I put as much moisturizer as needed to keep it smooth and not flaky, wait for a few minutes and then put on everything else as usual. I find doing this about once a week keeps the dry skin away. Good luck :]

I also have extremly dry skin-and sensitive too!
I use Lancome cleanser and a toner- although you must be careful that your toner ISN'T stripping the moisture from you face
Some products which say they are suitable for dry skin can be just as harsh as a reg toner!
When applying foundation make sure that you have left enough time for your moisturiser to soak in- and try applying the foundation with a sponge and don't overload it.
Also by using a mild exfoliating facial wash once a week will sluff off any dead skin cells and will make the skin feel softer and smoother
REMEMBER TO MOISTURISE THOROUGHLY AFTERWARDS!!
I use a light reflecting foundation from Rimmel- which is very light yet the coverage is good- the problem with dry skin is that it has a tendecy to look dull- go for a light reflective moisturiser and foundation and you really can't go wrong
I know how you feel!!

Hello there. If your skin is sensitive, then stick to a basic routine of water, followed by a rich moisturiser, preferably E45.If your skin is just flaky/dry,then before applying make up gently scrub it with a facial cloth(with a dab of cream cleanser) and warm water,or a cream scrub, focusing on the dry bits especially.this will help promote more natural oils in the skin.follow with a moisturiser.Do not use traditional foundation,go for a tinted moisturiser,it will give the same colour as a foundation, but much more moisture. If all else fails,go to your GP/Doctor,they have some fab creams.hope this helps.regards roma

ohh that's all really clean:) when you moisturise sort of massage your face for a bit, and then leave it for 5 minutes to really soak in. Instead of using a foundation use a tinted moisturiser, YOU REBEL by Benefit is really great! I'm a bit annoyed because my boyfriend nabbed it off me today..PFFF.. It costs £22.50 and is really good for dry skin. If you want more cover up, use a liquid concealer on top (about 5 minutes after applying tinted moisturiser) but not too much, Benefit Boi-ing concealer is really good and doesn't clump up or dry your skin, however I'm sure any liquid or cream concealer will work just as well. Happy soft skin:) xx-- oooh one more thing, if this makes your face all shiny because of all the moisturiser dab on top DR FEEL GOOD by benefit, it feels soooooo good and stops your skin from looking shiny and doesnt dry it out!

Hi
Every morning you should be cleansing toning and moisturising aswell as this your should be exfolliating 2-3 times a week to get rid of the dry dead cells and using a face mask twice a week. I would recomend getting a richer moisturiser and also maybe using a serum under your moisturiser this helps lock in moisture and repair the dry skin. I use Darphins Hydrant Serum Its amazing! Also drink loads of water helps too.

First of all don't use products with Sodium Laural Sulfate or mineral oil. It's very drying even if it says it's for dry skin. And do NOT put petrolium jelly on your skin (it is mineral oil which is very very bad for the skin.)
Try Aqua Dessa chocolate black current face scrub. It will help take care of the flakes and moisturize your skin. I'm not sure if it actually cleans your skin so you might want to try one of their face washes too. Find a moisturizer that is called a hydrater. Drink more water and take a vitamin E supplement.
For foundation try Laura Mercier Moisturizing foundation.

well there has been a lot of good answers already, but i would suggest a really great foundation that i use, from max factor two in one, where it has a moisturiser in the first bit, you put this on first then foundation its great, ive been using it for a year now and i will never wear anything else, as i suffer from dry skin as well where i was having blotches on my skin, this ain't happening now.
The price for this is £12.00 a bit steep, but its worth it, good luck!!

Our skin is a semi-permeable membrane, which allows water to go out from the body or to come in the body. While swimming in the salt water, the salt concentration inside your body is lower than that on the outside. This causes our body to eject some water. This increases the moisture in the skin and remains until it is evaporated.
Your skin uses two ingredients for oiling and softening it. They are water and oil that makes your skin more permeable in different ways. The word “moisture” refers to various combinations of these two types of skin components. When you swim vigorously below any water for a long time, it makes your skin dry. Salt water scrubs away the skin oil.

I found that micro dermabrasion kits help. The best one I've used it Mary Kay. You can go to marykay.com and find your local consultant. She may also recommend other products to help your skin. I use a lot of Mary Kay products and my skin looks so much better than it used to. Now that I use the micro derm, I notice that I don't have the dry flakes and the makeup goes on much nicer.
