Parents that Murdered their kids? sample: Diane Downs?

I am all against the murder situation, and i think its even more messed up when parents murder their own kids, or other peoples kids. I keep seeing this movie about Diane Downs murdered her kids because of her love life? That is really messed up and i don't think she should even be living. what do yall think about this situation?

With anyone who murders their children(Diane Downs, Susan Smith, Andrea Yates...) they should NEVER have the right to be near ANY child...not even their own nieces or nephews or, if any, remaining children. I feel they are worse than a pedophile. They should get the death penalty. Children are innocent and only imitate what they see in their lives. When an adult reaches a level to which they become an endangerment to children, people should get involved and do the best they can to help remove the kids. Traumatizing, yes, but what would be better, seeing another murdered child by their parent(s) or a child who has a chance to live a decent, as close to normal as possible, life? Oh and I do believe Diane Downs got the death penalty...she also had her baby while on death row. Her surviving daughter (her son also survived the brutal attack, but I think he is in a wheelchair now, and I think they are adults now)pointed her out when asked who shot her and her siblings. I believe they were adopted by a police officer on the case. I guess I will have to look it up now!!!

I remember this case well. I found it to be so horrific that it stuck with me. This happened a long time ago...probably a good 25 years ago. It was all over the news and there is a novel out that tells her story. People that commit murder are mentally ill...and people that murder their own children or loved ones are even more so mentally ill. It takes a deranged mind to do something like this. Knowing this I am not sure that how I feel about her being executed. Part of me feels it would be just, but part of me says she is ill.

The movie about this is called Small Sacrifices starring Farrah Fawcett. Diane Downs is called a sociopath. She went with all kinds of men. I don't think all her kids were by the same man. She fell in love with this married man. He told her they could not be together because he did not want children. She then tried to kill hers but only one died. The boy was paralyzed and the other girl was emotionally scarred for a long time. Before she could arrested for the crimes she went with another man and had a baby girl. She was born in prison and adopted out. The other kids were adopted by the prosecutor of the case. The true crime book is by Ann Rule. I think being in prison is good enough for her. She has no freedom and can no longer con people. She has think about her kids and know that they know that she did it.

I agree with you. Anyone who has no regard for the lives of their families, definately doesnt have any regard for the lives of others. The case in SC where the young mother drove her car into the lake with her two small children inside then reported them missing, drives me insane. She blamed it on her boyfriend (now remember she was married) and her step father. She claimed she was molested as a child. I feel sorry for her that she was molested as a child, but when she chose to drive those kids into the lake and then let them drown, she lost all sympathy. Im a firm beliver in the Death Penalty, not because its a deterent, but because some people just dont deserve to live while Im paying for the food and lodging in jail.

The vast majority of mother's who end the lives of their own children are suffering from some sort of post-partum depression. While I do believe that they should be properly punished for the murder, women who express these symptoms should have help readily available before they do something to harm themsleves or their kid.

Anyone else who kills a kid should be sentenced to the death penalty.

To me? An eye for an eye. You kill? You should be killed. Plain and simple. If it is beyond a shadow of a doubt that you did it? Then your A*S should be doomed immediately. Within days of the trial. Never mind spending tax dollars and having 3 meals a day and heat or air conditioning. Animals. If a dog as much as bites somebody they kill them. But people that are supposed to have more brains get away with it? Bullship. I don't care what the reason was for the killing. You kill you should be killed. And if they arent sure then the person should rot in jail and they should have to become sterilized. Plain and simple.

basically dont homicide your mothers and fathers!!! properly i might want to pick to imagine that there is a lack of connection if its the mothers and fathers being murdered by potential of their children yet who's conscious. Now for the mothers and fathers murdering their children, there is always a time even as a determine might want to have a second the position they experience like they likely cant make it selfishness and basically uncomplicated overwhelming for them to protect their children and basically lose it. Its troublesome being a determine gotta have staying power and be mentally prepared to take action. Its soo messed up, isnt it?

There is this lady who had an infant/toddler in the bathtub (which was only inches deep) and it drowned to death. You know why? She wasnt paying any attention..she was in another room getting high.

You know what happened to her? She is on medication for a mental illness. She still walks around town to this day.

If I chose, she would have been sentenced to prison for 100 yrs or death.

If they have solid proof then I think that she deserves to sit in a jail cell the rest of her life and think about what she did. Other inmates will torcher pepole like that. I think killing them would make then more happy. They would get out the easy way.

Ew! Gross! Parents who murder their own children have a serious mental problem. Kids are their parents own flesh and blood, so parents who murder their children are basically killing themselves. It's like suicide without actually having to kill themselves.
