Ellen Johnson- Sirleaf became the first female president in Liberia, Fall of 2005. Thats the only one I knew.

I don't know exactly... they are too many.... what I know is the first woman leader was a pharoah in Egypt....
another woman leader in History is Cleopatra. Germany has Merkel, the Philippines had Corazon Aquino and in present Gloria Arroyo, an economist and fierce president....

Except for Muslim Countries and Asiatics all countries are ruled by women if the president isn't gay.
