My ex-husband has moved to another state. He lives in another state with my daughter who is 14. He did not take my daughter with him but left her there with his mother.

I am planning to go get her or live with her until she finishes school this semester.

I don't know though if I should take a stand and ask him to change custody legally or I am not coming and let nature take its course OR go and follow my motherly instinct and take care of my child.

I want to do what is right . My daughter is not talking to me because she asked me to come to be with her and her Dad and I did not do it yet.

Take action. This child will feel doubly abandoned if you do not file for legal custody. it is strange for a Mother NOT to have custody in the first place...but maybe you weren't the best parent for her at the time. However, it appears that things have changed. This child needs a parent that is willing and able to BE A PARENT. Good luck.

does your daughter realize that you & her dad are not together anymore? Are you divoriced or just seperated? This is a tough age for a girl to be w/out her mom! Does her dad even want you to be with them? Why did he leave her w/ his mother? Where did he go? She needs to understand that you two are not together anymore and that you want to be w/ her!! Try talking to her about the whole situation so she will understand a bit more and then go w/ your instincts!

You need to step up and take care of your child regardless! OMG you sound too wishy washy. Please, for the sake of your daughter, get into her life and let her know she is loved!
