He's kind of middle of the road on the Gay Marriage issue. He does NOT support a federal amendment to ban gay marriages but also doesn't support federal recognition of gay marriages either.
He just needs a little more proper information on the rights, protections and benefit OWED to ALL citizens.
He kind of leans towards "Civil Unions" but as a lawyer, I would think that more correct legal research on his part might help him lean a bit more towards "same-sex marriage" instead.

His voting record in the senate shows that he voted against the bill to ban same sex marriages.
He also spoke out in favor of letting each person choose their own partner.
His statement to the Senate includes:
I agree with most Americans, with Democrats and Republicans, with Vice President Cheney, with over 2,000 religious leaders of all different beliefs, that decisions about marriage, as they always have, should be left to the States.

in case you observed the vice chairman debate, Biden provides you the respond and has the right smae answer as Palin did. Obama and Biden and McCain and Palin are for permitting human rights like insurance, rights consisting of permitting contractual agreements given the significant different rights, etc. NEITHER are for marriage and changing the definition of marriage to be any element different than a guy and a woman. so as that they are the two an identical in this.

Just like a typical Democrat he has no stand on any issue. When it comes time Obama will just stick his finger up and see which way the wind is blowing and go along with whatever is popular at the time. It's called flip-flop politics, and it's the exact opposite of LEADERSHIP.
Obama will never win the presidency.
