Go to the party. Carry a purse full of "femnine napkins." Sit on the side of the pool. If someone asks why you don't get in, just say you don't feel well or something like that. If you want, you could wear jeans over your swin suit. Tell your BF the situation so that she doesn't feel left out, or feel like you don't want to be there. She should understand. Maybe even sit on the side of the pool with you're feet dangling in. Just have fun!

You should go to the party and tell your best friend that you are on your period and are not comfortable wearing tampons, she will understand. By the way, try using tampons again, they can be uncomfortable at first but you will soon get used to them. Follow the instructions in the packet and you should be fine. Good luck!

Just tell her the truth or pretend u hurt yourself.
You can also give a tampoYou can also just go and stay in the water for about 15 min and then when you get out you just head right 4 the bathroom and put in a pad. If you do this then u wont get an infection. To tell u the truth i just noticed that I have the same problem.....uh oh. I never wore a tampon. Wel there's a first 4 everything right?

I would use a menstrual cup or softcup as they are far more comfortable and safer than tampons, also better suited for swimming, alternatively use cloth pads or padded panties with a pair of shorts over the top.
If not I'd just tell my friend for some reason I cannot/do not want to use cups or pads to swim so I don't want to go into the pool as I have my period.

Listen honey, something is wrong if it is uncomfortable. If it's inserted correctly you wont feel it. I didnt know what the heck I was doing at first either and if I told you about my first week of tampons, you would die laughing. Ask your best friend if you might be doing it wrong. After you get it figured out, you will never use anything more than a pantyliner for extra safety again. I promise!!!

Try the junior sized ones. And take your time with putting it in. It used to make me really nervous, so I would have to sit there and calm myself down for a minute. And practice makes perfect.
It would be a real bummer to miss out on the fun of the pool party. I would really encourage you to try the smallest ones you can find. I think Tampax makes some really small ones. Get some free samples on line.

If you haven't tried junior sized tampons, try them. I had to use them for years. If you can't get the hang of it, wear a panty liner and tell your friend the situation. Chances are, she'll understand. Go and have fun.
