IF the person isn't strongly opinionated or set in strong beliefs, and IF the person isn't presented with outside influences, and IF you are skilled in the mastery of words, it may not be too difficult at all. I hope you aren't planning to attempt to control the thoughts of some to find out for sure if it's possible. :-)

There are always exceptions to the rule.
my rule is that most people are idiots who cannot wait to hear what they want to hear.
Look at these forums, (especially the Political ones) and figure out how many people, bashing the President or our efforts in the Middle East, ever listen/watch anything but the Dem/Liberally controlled Network News.
Your question is answered.

It is easy, easy as hell. A lot of people will act like they are too smart to be controlled. The ones who say that are usually the easiest ones to fool.

Now, why would anyone want to waste their precious time and energy controlling others in the first place? It can only come from a personal feeling of loss of control in one's own life that you would feel the need to do this to another. We all mirror to the outside world, our inner thoughts, fears, hopes, by our actions that we manifest and communicate to others. One who seeks to exert control of others, is mirroring a lack of personal control within their own being. You don't resolve a personal dilemma by transferring it to others to gain one's own feeling of self control of some sort. You are operating with reverse logic, which in conclusion, would result in the illogical. You can only truthfully and honestly, exert true control within yourself. It looks like an easy fix to control another. It is not! You will still have your original problem that gave rise to your negative desire in the first place. You will be no better, no more powerful, because exterior control is fleeting. You would have to completely become that other person, mind, body and soul, to have control of another, so what is the sense in that? You have just substituted one set of problems for another's! It's a waste of time and a cheap thrill to so focus one's abilities on that of another's. You live alone, you die alone. Don't fool yourself that any sense of control over another is going to change any basic facts of existence. You are responsible for your own happiness in life. No one can do that for anyone else. What happiness or goal is to be achieved in aiming at someone else's domain as opposed to our own, which we can't escape anyway, until the final day, so what, honestly, is anyone to accomplish with such futility? Put all your energies into knowing and controlling yourself and your life, and you will find real happiness and achievment. The answer is not out there, it's within you. To control another's mind, is stepping into an area of negativity, which can only reflect back to you, in non-productive, negative ways. The minds of others should only be accessed to share our positive thoughts and aspirations, so that, collectively, we can advance our own minds to a better place than we were before.

I agree with the answer from The Dude. Boldness intimidates the weak but engages the strong.

Nothing would be easy but it is possible. You need to frame responses so that the person can see "their" view in your thoughts. In doing so you can systematically frame their actions to do your bidding.
