okay so if u happen to pass a girl between classes and u just ask her for directions ...(can u girls see right through it ..and think it as alame excuse to talk u)cause there was this girl and shewas like wait..whats ur name...so blah blah i c her again..she says hey how r u doing...she said first...then we do the sam when we pass eachother but then i finally try to move the talk more into more detail..and ...we talk about classes and i ask where u going...she was like home then i paused for a little bit...awkward silence just smiling and she says bye..so i see her again another day and she says hey first even th ough my attenion wasnt on her...okay I dont know how to do with this girl...were still both random to eachother and dont know eachother well...wouldnt most girls think itd be awkward and wierd for a guy to try to hang out with em when they meet in these random circumstances???!

The fact that she is initiating the conversation by greeting you means something. If she thought you were a cretin, jerk or not worth her time, she'd make sure she never made eye contact with you and definitely wouldn't greet you.
That being said, what her friendliness means has yet to be determined. Could mean she just wants to be platonic friends, could mean she's sort of interested, could mean any number of things.
Don't worry that it's still random and kind of awkward. And don't worry that it's clear to her that your asking for directions was just an excuse to talk to her...she's flattered that a guy would come up with a lame excuse just to try and talk to her.
I say keep trying to have normal conversations with her. Take your time to get to know her - what she's interested in, what she really likes, what she wants to do with her future, what are her plans. You have nothing to lose by going slow - you may find out that under that pretty face she's really NOT a girl you'd be interested in. You may find that she really is someone you'd like to get closer to.
Just don't try to go with the full court press immediately, constantly trying to monopolize her time or anything like that - it smacks of desperation and creepiness.
What she is probably going to be impressed with more than anything else at this stage is how natural, un-postured and relaxed you can be with her. Be yourself - even though I realize how difficult that is when you're just getting to know her, and you're super-concerned about what she thinks of every little thing you do. Have confidence in yourself, and that will impress her more than any line or clever scheme you can think of.

I mean, what's the worst that could happen? she either likes you ar she doesn't and since she keeps talking to you like that, I'm thinking there's a big chance that she does.
