If your waist is small, try to extenuate this by wearing items that fit snug around that area and are slightly looser around the belly area. This includes baby-doll tops (in style this spring), wraps, asian cuts (try a nice V neck), etc. Try not to have the pattern be too bold around the trouble area, solids are always better. You can also draw attention upwards with a nice necklace or an interesting neckline. There are great basics you can buy as well that will accomplish this-even cheap! Target has some great options for work clothes as well as cute 'going out' clothes. With slim dresses that you still want to look nice in (no belly pooch) you can buy Spanx, they are sort of like well-fitting spandex that suck in all the extra fat. Do NOT wear baggy clothes, this is a mistake too many people make. Buy well-fitted, modern, and age appropriate clothes-you should feel good in what you wear and wear it well. If you feel like the clothes are wearing you, get rid of them!

I know you said you don't want to wear baggy clothes, but just get shirts in a size bigger. I don't mean get baggy clothes, but if you normally wear xs get a s or s get a m etc. I have a little extra chub on my stomach too and I just get shirts that are a little baggy around the stomach area to hide it.

Black is very slimming. White tends to make you look larger, so not white. Don't wear baggy clothes because they also can make you look larger. Wear clothes that fit, not tight or baggy, and darker colors such as navy, black purple. Good luck!

Trying to look slim and cute is limiting, but I have a solution. One of the most stylish shirts is the baby-doll top.
Very cute, loose, and comfortable. As for the pants, try buying a size or two bigger. Also, gouchos are loose and cute (they look great with baby-doll tops).

Try to wear clothes that give the visual appearance of "thinnness."
Vertical stripes work wonders toward this. The essance of "color-hiding" certain aspects helps me in my profession.
When I try to bring attention to my face, I wear darker (solid) colors closer to my face.
I am a "textbook Winter" as I use these color-coding themes in my profession.
Depending on your hair and eye colors, wear red and white vertical stripes. The red and white color spectrum draws the attention (focus) away from certain parts of your body.

High waisted tops. Or wear high belts. You know, those 'pregnant looking' tops. You can find them anywhere actually, at forever21 they`re everywhere.
