Who says the 14 year old is the only Iraqi female who was raped? Anyone who knows the facts about US soldiers knows of dozens of cases around the world where yank soldiers raped citizens of other countries, not to mention rapes on US military bases (in the US and elsewhere) OF female US soldiers BY male US soldiers. Does the word "Tailhook" not ring any bells?

And that's not including things like the torture at Abu Ghraib and countless other war crimes the US military has been proven to have committed (though strangely, not convicted of) since 1940. To believe the US soldiers didn't rape the 14 year old girl requires blind faith that makes the pope look like an atheist.

But, of course, rape is considered an acceptable tactic by the US military and government. Why else would they punish those who reported it (much the same way those who defended jews were punished by the Nazis)?

I could have posted more, but I figured 20+ articles would make the point. If Someone doesn't agree with this, then no amount of evidence will get through their thick heads.

Yes, I do believe it and why not?
US Marines are people, who are caught in the human condition. Killing people requires a certain committment that Marines do not take lightly. At the same time, there is always a trade-off in the psyche. If being a ruthless killing machine is condoned by Bush and the "conservative" people who voted him into office, then how do Marines justify to themselves what they have become? Tell me, how do they do it?!
Yes, rape is bad, but there are worse things than being raped or killed. It is the emotional trauma of prison and the inability to protect those that you love.
Some people will go so far as to say that those men are mentally insane, but isn't war itself mentally insane? Aren't you really asking how anyone can break down under the stress of being in a war that YOU don't have to be in?

It probably occurred, and I would think its an isolated incident. I've been over there twice and nothing like that ever happened in any of our sectors.
I could be wrong.

According to CNN it did happen, they are all telling on each other. I hope they pay for it, because this really makes the USA look bad. It shouldn't matter what their living conditions are, or whether or not they hadn't had a bath in a month, what they did was inexcusable. It seems the instigator has mental problems as well. If he'd do that there, what would he do here eventually?

what's extremely unhappy is that it is no longer only the single 12yr lady, nor the 14yr lady, or the 6yr boy in Abu Ghraib that became sodomized to attempt to get information out of his mom who had to visual demonstrate unit. This has been occurring plenty. this stuff take position even as violence and hatred of a all and sundry is recommended through a authorities. those precise-wing pundits, administration and congressional proponents were pushing this concept of Arabic people being inherantly evil for see you later, people (extraordinarily those stuck up interior the midst of it, like our militia) commence seeing them as sub-human, and those atrocities take position.

Hopefully it's an isolated incident. But that it happened has been well-documented.

It is possible that the incident happened.

Sad to say these kind of things sometimes happen. You hope that the soldiers will be properly disciplined if they are guilty.
