You go in after having ovulation inducing drugs... if you have 10 that are ripe and ready does the Dr take all 10? Do you say only take 4? How does it work?

I think it depends on which dr you go to and what fertility problems that you have - in my case with PCOS many of the eggs could be flawed/not viable so if they do not harvest and attempt to fertilize multiple eggs I may not have any embryos to use for trying to get pregnant. IVF is a really hard thing to even consider for me but I have waited for years to get pregnant and tried all other options so this is my last hope at having a baby. Ideally I will be able to use all of the embryos eventually as I would love to have 2, 3, or even 4 children but if I wind up with something like 10 extra I would consider embryo donation (although it would be a difficult decision in many ways).....

From my own personal experience with IVF the doctor will retrieve all of your eggs from you. Depending on which IVF procedure you are having as there are so many different ones. For me i had the procedure called (gift) where they retrieved my eggs and checked which ones were the best of them and 2 eggs were put back with sperm and it was left to nature to do the rest. And the rest of my eggs were fertilised in the lab and frozen for me to use later. Depending on your age as well will determine how many they will put back And as a result of the 2 eggs i had conceived twins and they are now 6yrs old. As well to let you know the eggs that they freeze for you, you will have to pay a storage fee every year. Good luck with it all . Hope i was some help with your question

All of the eggs that are mature and ready to ovulate are harvested. They can't leave any mature ones behind because that would mess up the cycle.
