Every candidate justifiably believes that we must remain secure as a nation. But no candidate has truly become someone who would engage all of us as citizens without alienating the Muslim community. Unfortunately, the media has construed aspects of Arab culture as Islam. But there are many Muslims that were born and bred here in America and believe in having a peaceful and safe nation. But someone has to say to the American people that there is a difference between what we see as Arab tribalism and what Muslims practice as a manifestation of their faith. The demonization of the Muslim community worldwide has turned into the new civil rights issue of the new century and a PROACTIVE engagement with the community will aid immensely. There are over a billion white, black, brown, red and yellow Muslims worldwide that view themselves as brothers and sisters in the faith of Islam. Inteligent people have to realize that the minority of Arabs that practice the faith don't represent all....~~~~W

Again I stress CONSTRUCTIVELY. Most of you are still basing your answers on the idea that all Muslims espouse the ideology that the media promotes. ONLY 14% of all Muslims live in the Middle East and Afghanistan. The rest live elsewhere, including the US. And I have heard many of them denounce terrorism and try to get the UN to develop a universal definition of the word Terrorism but the US opposed that effort, mostly because the International community could view the US as guilty. As long as we continue to view Islam and Terrorism as synonymous entities there can be no constructive dialog. Point being, get off your high horse of IGNORANCE and address the question.
And for the pseudo Islamic scholars, the Qurán teaches that Jesus is the Messiah and that Jews, Christians and Muslims will be in the Hereafter (Heaven). Funny, Jews don’t believe he is the Messiah but Christians LooooooVe them….~~~~W

The Muslim community isn't being demonized, get real buddy. If you hate America so much then just leave. I haven't seen one Muslim in America stand up and denounce what the terrorists did to America on 9/11 and what they are doing to Israel. Yet this country treats you the same as any other citizen because it's America.

What you're asking for is special treatment just because you're a Muslim. That's not how it works here in America.

If this is true from what you say, why has not the American Muslim community come out and denounced the actions of the Radical Muslims. Why do you Muslims hold to the belief of the Qu'ran that Islam should be world domination. If you are a believer in Islam, and if you are an American and still holds that the Qu'ran is the word of Mohamed and comes from Alla, then you must believe in Islam as one world religion as stated in the Qu'ran. You also believe in once your leader you follow dictates a Holy War you will die for your cause. So I ask you why would we want to have a dialog with a sect that has the over all dream of the destruction of the American way of life? What good will come of that. Once Muslims raise up and denounce the world extermination of Christians and Jews, then I can see where a dialog and healing can begin. It has to start in the Muslim community. Otherwise your Muslim community cannot be trusted or embraced.

In doing so you would be changing the face of Islam and the words of the Qu'ran. So your faith is a faith of nothing but hatred and deceit toward not Muslims. Just stating a fact.

Please refer to Qur'an:

Qur'ān Surah Al-Anfãl 8:39
So fight them (unbelievers) until there is no more fitnah (disbelief or worship of any god but Allah) and all submit to the religion of Allah alone (in the whole world) ... And fight with them until there is no more fitnah and religion should be ONLY for Allah.

Why does the offered and paid for media proceed to assert maximum people are at a loss for words about Obama's faith/ WoW they nonetheless imagine the yankee all and sundry is stupid yet this American isn't at a loss for words even somewhat and so a concepts as i'm in touch I under no circumstances became yet interior the previous 3 hundred and sixty 5 days each and everything this dirt bag has achieved is Muslim suitable or suitable and easily a blind fool must be at a loss for words immediately, interior the start he stayed interior the closet and paid a fruitcake lunatic said as Rev Jeremiah Wright to assert he has belonged to that phony church for 2 a lengthy time period even as in truth he under no circumstances did it became only a diversion from his authentic believe and way of life it is muslim and also area of the reason this fraud has concealed his start certificate because it ought to demonstrate the actuality and this fool knows he ought to under no circumstances get elected as a muslim.. So Mr. pretender step as a lot because the mike and condemn them for 911 and tell them no way are those jerkoff gonna construct on the 911 floor 0 yet he received't and do not assume to ever see his authentic start certificate both yet come November vote out each and every of the dems and press to question Obama in 2011

when there are Muslim leaders who stand up and denounce terror, including groups like Hezbollah and Ha mas, then we can talk about constructively engaging the community. i have seen little or no effort from any Muslims to denounce terror. why should we have to take the initiative, when it's their religion that is spawning these terrorists?

have you seen those British tapes from the mosques of Britain? if not, you should see them. (channel 4 in Britain did some undercover work. what they found is hardly peaceful advocates.) don't you ever wonder what they say when we're not listening? it would terrify you.

have you ever heard of Waled Shoe bat? you should look him up, he's an ex-Palestinian terrorist. he's one person who IS denouncing terrorism, and he is doing his best to tell us what kind of things we need to do to fight terrorism. he's not listened to often enough unfortunately. have you heard of Bridget Gabriel? you should look her up too. unless i have her name wrong, she's written a book called "because they hate," which is about terrorism and her life in Lebanon. she is also doing her best to warn us and tell us what to do, and again, no one listens to her.

you would rather believe that something like poverty is behind terrorism, when the truth is it's not that simple.

again, when the MUSLIMS THEMSELVES PROTEST TERRORISM, we can do much together.

You are seriously mistaken about the muslims intentions. The intention is to kill us or have us on our knees to mecca five times a day.

The best way to engage Islam is by use of superior firepower. Engage and kill them.

Duncan Hunter would be the best to "engage" the muslims!

They need to assimilate into the American culture or get out.

I do not agree that it is the job of government (D or R) to "engage the Muslim community."

It is the job of the Muslim community to assimilate into the US.

Neither. Both candidates are bought and paid for by AIPAC (Israel's lobby). They do what their Zionists masters tell them to do. What do their Zionists masters tell them to do? Kill Muslims in order to make way for "Greater Israel".
