Why are 95% of whites so racist?

First of all, being proud and being racist are two different things. Being proud of yourself means showing respect to others, regardless of religion, sexual orientation as well as skin color - which is the issue here.

I would apologize for whoever called you a White boy, cracker, honkey or ect...but I'm not since none of those words fell from my lips in regards to you. BUT I can tell you if you called me a Ni****, and you know what the word is, I'd have major problems with you personally, and you can have faith you'd be the one to feel the brunt of my anger rather than someone else because they happened to share the same ethnicity as you. I don't appreciate the generalization that always comes from other people's mouths. You can't generalize a whole race just based on a few encounters with others.
As for racism, it does exist. I've experienced it first hand, but I'm not going to go into it because I don't feel the need to. Why relive something that was so negative? I refuse to let people like you and others like you (not necessarily only White, because there are Black people, Mexicans and others of other races that are just as racist) to rule my life.
As for the statement of Blacks having over 60 colleges and Whites having none, that's basically what you said, that's incorrect. There are more than hundreds of colleges that are White colleges. No, they're not necessarily conclusive to Whites only, but neither are the Black colleges. As for the NAACP, if you wanted to and had the grades you could get scholarships from them. It is common knowledge among other African Americans that they do little to help African Americans in the way that people like you claim that they help us.

As for Black history month...when do you not celebrate the history of Whites? It is only during February that many places even acknowledge that Blacks did play a role in the history of the united states. And, this country, whether you or others choose to acknowledge this fact or not, was built upon the backs of slaves (African Americans, Chinese, and Native Americans). Deny it all you want but it is in the very history books that we are forced to study all throughout elementary, intermediate, and secondary education.
As for us having the entire month, and having a national holiday named after a very important beacon in American history (you notice I said American and not African American - MLK marked a turning point in all of our history), you can't hate us for that. As a matter of fact, some people do get together to celebrate a 'white pride day' as you have called it. You celebrate President's Day (and nobody but a White man has held the office) , July 4th (Which is only the liberation of Whites from Britain), Columbus Day, and even St. Patricks Day. What the heck did St. Patricks do? Besides be a saint unto the Catholics? And, what do you call the parades and marches hosted by the white supremist and the KKK? Don't tell me that it isn't their attempt to celebrate their own heritage because I've witnessed it myself.
Okay, BET now. Yes, we have our own television network, but you have yours too. CMT. And you have the CMA's.
I guess I'm supposed to just role over and play the obediant slave girl that you seem to want black people to play, but I'm not.
And you stated that 'America' would be better without African American's here. Lets get a few things straight about that. 1. If you know anything about history of slavery, which I'm doubting since you made that dumb statement, Europeans stole Africans from Africa and brought us over here against our will, 2. and as I recall, we didn't receive reparations, 3. we didn't even receive help to return to our native lands.
As for us having the Black Chamber of Commerce, you have just about every other single area of the government. Stop trying to find blame for your own prejudices. Me, I'm proud of the way I am. I'm not racist. I hate pure and simple. I hate people who make dumb statements, the same statements that you have made. And I won't hide the fact either.
You've stated these things, and I'm here to answer.

i think the number is a little high. its not fair to say that 95% of whites are racist. I've actually experienced more racism from blacks than i have from whites, unless i never picked it up. But i do agree that lots of people are still racist, because they may have heard it from somewhere, or when they had a bad experience with a person from another race, they became weak and blames the race and not the oerson, thus creating a shallow generalization. I dont know why people work so hard to unite, just to stay seperate.

Most of the people I know are not. I do not know where you have gotten your numbers from but we are not all racists.
As for allowing it to happen. Even if I am an American I can not
Police the world. The world is a different place that it was and luckily it is changing for the better. But please don't lump all of us in to the same groups.
Just in the news this week a group of about 30 black teens chased down 3 white teens and beat them badly. Some of them
have now been sent to jail over it. So its not just whites.
What needs to happen is more education for not just the children but their parents.

Firstly, do you even know 95% of white people??? Secondly, why are you pointing fingers when white countires are the only countries to allow multiculturalism? Does China allow tons of African refugees in? Or India? What about the middle east? They won't even allow the Palestinians to find refuge in their countries because then they would lose their bargaining chip to get rid of Israel! Thirdly, I've never ever seen an example of actual racism from whites in my life--and I've seen alot and been all over the world. I've seen alot of racism from non-whites though. I've seen whites attacked plenty of times, even been attacked myself for being in the ghetto and not being black.

Not that much so... but i admit that the racism on yahoo answers is disgusting, I dont believe any racism is justified, everytime i tell whites that they shouldn't be racist they immediately assume I love it when a black person is racist to them and they yell at me. Jeez! You are not justifying yourself by being racist, I have people be racist to me but never will i be racist. Who is the better person? and its true that native americans are real americans. just ignore them, they are demented.

It's amazing how some people will pull numbers out of thin air and expect these numbers to be believed.

Most parents don't teach their kids racism, although the media and the schools do engage in anti-racist indoctrination. Racism is learned through life experiences and should be called realism.

By that standard, everyone, all of us, black and white alike, are racists as long as racism still exists, solely by virtue of the fact that no matter what we've done to fight it, we haven't eliminated it yet! I've had my run in's with whites who were racist. If I would walk past her she would clench her purse to her chest, and he would look the opposite direction. Or in the store they refuse to touch your hand, but where I lived (Atlanta) it was rare. Now I stay in Douglasville, and people consider this city to be racist, but I don't see it as being. I do agree that majority of whites that ARE racist are because their parents raised them that way. But also because they may have had a run in with that race. For instance, I white person may have been mugged or raped by a black man, so because of that they dont' like black men. Even a black person could be racist because they applied for the same job as a white man, and felt equally qualified but the white man got it. People are racist for many different reasons, and for just as many I will never understand. THIS DOES NOT MEAN EVERYONE THAT'S HAD THIS HAPPEN IS RACIST.
