Do you think the instances of possession by an evil entity are based on a reality?

Are exorcisms for real? Have you ever encountered anything that felt so evil and vile it scared you beyond imaginable fear? Do you think it's inner fear projected outwardly or are there truly evil beings that exist outside our realm of sight? Any experiences you'd like to share?

I know that evil possion must be possible. For one, I am a Christian, and the Bible says it's true. But I have had many experiences with the paranormal. I suppose when I first began my encounters with unexplainable happennings I was scared out of my wits. I was about 10 at the time I truly remember actually seeing anything unnatural. I translucent square aproximately 2feet by 2feet, came through my bedroom wall. floated acrossed the room and out through the other wall. Why a square? I have no idea. But many things followed over the years. It has even been funny because of others freaking out. But I still get a little unnerved. I Read The Entity before it ever made it to a movie. The movie destroyed the story, read it some time. As for the super natural giving me tremendous fear, I guess I am sort of used to ghostly encounters. But I am lucky, I haven't had to deal with an evil spirit. the living scare me more than the dead. And for the record, I enjoyed Emily Rose. Although sad, I believe it.

Atheists have no longer something to do with technology. Atheism is basically a loss of perception in gods and atheists are not sitting around waiting for scientists to do stuff all day. i do no longer think of people get possessed and that i've got no actual view of the flaws you suggested, different than that a imprecise pastime of them as fictional characters. Yes, there is real evil and exorcisms have had to happen in order to remove the spirit. I have met people that scared me a lot there eyes are dead there is no life inside of them. To say evil doesn't exist is really playing in a very ugly realm.

Yes, as a Christian, I firmly believe in demons and the possibility of demonic possession. I myself have not encountered any truly evil beings as I have as yet not met Hillary Clinton, or the cast of The View.

hehehe... sorry, i shouldnt be laughing. my friend saw the excorcism of emily rose and then she was totally convinced she was possesed. its kinda sad, but pathetic... anyway.

i think that if there are good energies/spirits, etc, there are also bad ones. i mean, all cultures in the world believe in good and evil. so of couse.

i havent had any experiences with real evil entities, but there was a guy i went to school with, he was two grades above me and.. well, im not going to go there, but lets just say i was scared out of my mind of him. but his evil was of this world... *shudder*

absolutly i can say that evil exists but it is only a word not an entity.People have feelings that when pushed upon you may seem evil.The power of knowing is your first test of strenght and your ability to face yourself will be your last ,everything inbetween is your calling unfocused state of focus is a clue from me to you .

Possession is a mental thing. You never see a baby being possessed. It is conjured up from living experiences of ones own terror.

Exorcisms have been performed especially by the catholic church to free individuals from demonic spirits. I believe demonic spirits are very much real. As far as exorcisms work I see them more as a whichcraft. Really the only thing individuals need to do is call upon the name of Jesus because it mentions in the bible that each time one of us calls upon the name of Jesus demons quake with fear because they know through him they can be defeated. Demonic spirits are very much real whether people believe in them or not. They won't cease to exist just because someone says I don't believe in them; kind of like if someone were to say I don't believe in air because I can't see it but whether they believe it is there or not it still is. My uncle at a very young age had trouble sleeping because each time he tried to sleep he would feel a tight gripping around his neck and found it difficult to breathe. It wasn't until a few months later that he couldn't take it anymore that he asked for my grandma to pray for him. Since then he has never experienced such thing before. Our pastor has witnessed demon possesed individuals. He described one lady having a very deep voice as she kept on condeming God and our pastor.She would constantly shake kind of like she was experiencing a ceasure and her eyes were completly white. Immdeietly our pastor began praying with an authorative tone commanding the devil to free this women becasue he had no part nor right in her life. He called upon the name of Jesus and instanly the spirit fled and the women fell to her knees free from demonic possesion. And as for me not to long ago as I was going to bed I felt a strong grip in my neck as though someone was trying to kill me. The voice I heard was out of this world and its laughter grusome. I tried to open my mouth to scream and get my moms attention but as much as I tried I could not. My mouth seemed to be paralyzed and my entire body felt numb. And then an inner voice said "Jesus" It was then I remember what my mom told me about demonic spirits and about prayer. I instantly began praying rebuking the devourer and calling on Jesus name. Believe me, within a few seconds the grip was relieved and the laughter slowly grew fainter until it completly disappeared. I instanly ran to my mom after this and explained to her what happened it was 3 am by then. She comforted me and we began to pray more. She explained to me that as a Christian demonic spirits will also try to come in and oppress me. Only those who have not been saved could experience what it means to be possesed because the word posses means full control of...so if your a child of God how can the devil come and take full control of you if you belong to God. For this reason the devil tried to oppress me. But as far as the other lady goes she really was possesed. So yes to I strongly believe in evil spirits outside our realm but it also gives me comfort to know there are billions and billions of angels as well looking out after each and every one of us.
