The more I read these questions the more I am sure that no male/female ralationships work. I know that's not true, but are we looking at a 90%, 50% or10% cross section of life. How many of you are both truly happy after 20 years and the kids gone?

Is there such a thing as: couple meet, get married, have kids, & they then live "happily ever after"? Perhaps not, but I do believe there is such a thing as "happily ever most of the time". wink If I were single/never married that is, this site would make me NOT trust a man/woman in a marriage. PPL don't get on here to brag about how wonderful their marriages are. They want advice or surveying what others have done in their positions. My guess of what % this site covers? Very high. If you notice it seems they are all the same types of problems. Doesn't even matter if they are married or just living together in long term relationships. scary, isn't it? My grandparents wre married for 50 years before he past with cancer & they were extremely happy those last 30 years! It was the first 20 years that were the hardest!

Statistically, 1st marriages end in divorce about 50% of the time. Married people are passing their time online for a reason; that's probably why the percentage appears higher to you here.

The part missing is how many happily married couples ask questions in this group?
I find so many questions on cheating, "waiting for another to get divorce," et al. I believe that most are looking for reasons to continue without guilt. They WANT to do it, if they can find justification without remorse, that may be their reason to ask, even though it is morally wrong.
