I don't know whether it's still used or if it's considered politically incorrect, but the term is mulatto if you're half and half. If you're 1/4th, the term was quadroon; 1/8th was octoroon. I actually saw this last night on the History Channel. I kind of knew it, but hadn't heard it said in years. BTW-I think the spelling's correct but apparently spellcheck had never heard of either word and didn't have a suggestion, so I spelled it phonetically.

Mulatto, or Creole, were traditional names for your situation. They're not considered "politically correct" today however. Most blacks I know (including my wife) call it "mixed". The politically correct crowd calls it "bi-racial". So take your pick. In the end, it doesn't really matter. WHO you are is a whole helluva lot more important than WHAT you are!
