I dont have a floppy disk drive only a read/write rom why do I keep getting the message

Apparently, Windows thinks you do.
Try this
Open Device Manager
Right click on the Floppy Drive, Click Disable
Right click on the Floppy Drive Controller, Click Disable
Reboot

FDC means floppy drive controller. If the message comes up BEFORE windows or linux starts, then the main pcb is warning you of the physical failure of that controller. It shouldn't affect your usage. Some BIOS allow you to switch off the floppy controller, (refer to your motherboard manual if you have it). Otherwise, provided the machine starts up and runs, I wouldn't bother worrying about it.
