Its a common observation. When a brain is getting restless maybe due to some traumatic condition. Who is going to help it relax. The brain itself or someone with in you? Is it brain itself? I doubt it. Lets assume that someone suggested to your brain that do some meditation but WHO is accepting the suggestion. It it brain again? Isn't there an actor involved at all? Who is deciding what is good or bad for him? Then why does the response vary from individual. Is it the genes (I am not good at genes and not sure if genes really help in this case) that help him make this decision that letting it go is going to help him. Assuming genes helped, how did this genes even develop that ability in the first place the understanding that letting it go is going to get me out of this trauma? Is it possible that spiritual healers' suggestions have helped us come out of that or is it that our brains have that inbuilt? Isn't there an actor that has some intellect?

I think I missed a point. By actor, I mean the existence of SELF. I think self or soul is the one who is making this decision. Is that incorrect?

Lexo80: All point to the same question, if you have a good understanding if mind and soul. They all boil down to one simple question. Question is, Is it possible that there is an invisible actor (mind, soul or whatever) controlling the body and mind. If the actor decides to die he will die. If tha actor likes to stay longer as long as the body doens't get worn out he prefers to stay in this body. I put som many questions because the existence of sould is denied by all these kinds of silly answers. I wnated to cover all the possible answers that scientists explain to deny ther eixtence of soul by putting them in the form of questions. I wanted to see if anyone can come up with medical answers that explains the above questions, which I think only philosophy can answer. Hope I am clear this time.

Read Freud and colleagues you will find some interesting observations about the human mind.
We possess the capacity to reason. Which perhaps you could say is to compute information received and make an autonomous decision.
That means if you decide there is an 'actor' in you then there is one, known as schizophrenia when this becomes a dangerous belief it gets called paranoid.
If you want to be rational then you should decide you are in control of what you do and not some third party.
It is believed that some times the mind evolves in response to trauma in such a way it develops 'multi - personalities' the aim is to protect the 'innocent'. A very complicated and serious subject.
Personally don't know a great deal about it but there are many books on the subject.
If this is a worry that persists seek professional advice. Start with a visit to your GP.
If you are just curious then read as much on psychiatry as you can.

First you should not put your brain in such a condition where your brain is totally restless, everything you must take slowly.
you mention traumatic condition only can be freed by forgiving, means giving up to that situation or to that person, or even to your self.
Receive forgiveness from God put you in the road again.
who is going to relax? God says Bring all your worries to me and you will be rest.
bible says that - if two get together and agree in something, you two can pray to God and HE will listen and answer.
that will be the case that if someone is with you , will be more effective.
the answer vary one individual from other, because the way we have been race, the environment we got used too , are not the same from one person to other, the way we have assume things all our lifes, are never same situations than other person could be there.
again actor or factor?
I guess you meant factor of intellect will help to get us out of the restless brain.
I dont think so, is more deep than that, a restless brain had been trougth a lot cannot be a brain that didn't do anything like a baby brain for example cannot be a restless brain, I guess you mean restless brain some one who has done a lot or have a lot in ther minds and brains, some one who had some traumatic experience, some one who has panicks attacks, or someone who kill some one and its scare that could get cut.
so spiritual healing will be the answer, forgiveness again and again .

My work I now share came at a desperate time in my life so it become known to myself as my sanity saver in traumatic times.
It is by recognizing how very traumatic times in my life opened my mind, a door to somewhere nobody could harm me-my safe haven maybe but definitely a sanity saver. My childhood was not the norm' (if there is a normal) and during these times my mind and spirit travelled (astral projection-if not know what it is it may be of your interest to look it up), then again as a woman.................
Over the past few days I have been trying to find some understanding to my gift. I have been doing a lot of reading about others paranormal experiences and abilities considered as a blessing/gift and even a curse to some. I am trying to understand my part in what I am sharing and see from within my dreams. A medium or just a dreamer who is well in tune with me and others about me
A gift I have always had and I have always analyzed everything I want to understand until can understand it perfectly. Being my own student I have learned I have more experiences when my mind is trouble free, my spirit is at peace and my physical body feels safe. Now unless I went into details some of this may not be understood but I have experienced the trauma of the mind, body and spirit and surviving these by learning how to 'free each from the burden' that eventually made me very unwell physically has contributed toward that door opening to the visions and astral journeys I take. Every little pain in my body become understood, the patterns around certain circumstances. Our bodies, mind and spirit will step in to protect each other when needed. I had had the body and spirit hurt and my mind was the strength but when I had my mind attacked (best way of describing in short) it was my physical body that took the brunt of it. I was very aware of what was happening but a born fighter didn't give up on what I believed in-and I got there by learning to create change, facing fears and discovering my own courage in the process.
Meditation by learning yourself, the three combined within one-mind, body and spirit. These are combined but each we are also able to detach from-a separation that enables the other two to step in and protect the weak until strength has been found.

The source, which can be accessed through the art of daily meditation, will calm down the brain, and whatever else ails the mind and soul. Read "Heaven On Earth" by Stephen D'Amico for a complete understanding of this process. It's awesome!

Maybe when you read a book or have a good cry, relaxing is one of the greatest things for our brains, and a lot of sleep, not so much soda at night, because that can wire the brain and make you crash and cry. Keeping your brain distracted from anything bad, lets you forget, for awhile anyway

Well you know, we use only about 10 percent of our brain's potention, so I suppose that some extra engines of these 90 percent start to work as emergency systems in such case

One must learn to distinguish the difference between the brain and the mind....there is a significant difference. Your brain is an internal organ acting as a depository for information....where is your mind? More importantly where do your thoughts come from?

Ok i only read the question, not the details. But, it is all a type of thing called Homeostasis. It calms the body, (and brain) down, no matter what the condition is outside, unless your dying. Then, I have no clue what it is.

While no one could explain it, it is not a certain fact that the brain could not be responsible for agency (the actor as you call it).
Agency and will may or may not be the brain. You haven't given any reason why it wouldn't be.
