I thought it was a great read, the way Mark Haddon gave the view of life from a boy with Asperger's syndrome was informative and highly entertaining. I loved the way Christopher said "going to do some detecting" or "I want to do sex with you".

I really enjoyed it, but found some of "Christopher's" descriptions to be mentally exhausting to read. I think that gives the reader some insight into the sensory overload that autistic people deal with every day. As a mother, I could relate to Christopher's parents, and also felt compassion for Christopher. My 13 year old son, on the other hand ,was annoyed by Christopher, and found him irritating.

I liked the book, it had an unusual approach to the story and that's why I liked it. It was also a easy read and sometimes I like to read an easy book and this had a good feeling to it, however I can understand that some didn't like it.

I thought it was fabulous. Having some experience and knowledge regarding autism and aspergers syndrome I felt that his portrayal of what went on in the child's mind was amzingly accurate in so far as he could be. I also think it would be a really interesting to work on with older children, and think that, used in the right way, they could get a lot out of it.

It caught the imagination BECAUSE of the writing. It was an unusual and interesting writing style, which will be far less impressive if done again.

I really enjoyed it's quite amusing simplicity. However straight after it i started to read the contortionists Handbook by Craigh Clevenger and found it really amazing, it's the sort of thing you'd enjoy fi you liked Fight Club by Chuck P. read read it, it's brilliant!

I was disappointed. The book was overrated. It was a quick read and I didn't enjoy the writing at all. I guess it just didn't live up to all the hype and to my expectations of what a good book should be.
However, if you've never read it and you want to, please don't take my word for it. I would never tell anyone NOT to read a book because I didn't like it.

Yes, I've read it and I thought it was a great book. I've never seen a book written in the way it's been written before.

I am reading it now. And so far it's pretty good light reading. I have someone very close to me who has autism and thought this would be interesting. I'll let you know.
