Who is we?? If you are a talking about yourself? Then it is because you choose to be unhappy. Happy is in all of us. Sometimes I forget this and I have days of feeling blue. I have to try and find my happy. Sometimes doing an act of kindness, listing to child laugh, or just saying I am sorry will turn my feelings around. You should ask yourself what have I done to lose my happy?

Well, don't include me in your statement, I'm happy! But it seems to be a dilemma for many. They are not happy because they are all looking for it in the wrong places! Too many people are searching outside of themselves for happiness. Another person will make me happy. Another car will make me happy. I need another diamond to make me happy. I need a new job to make me happy. Well, all of the above, provide fleeting happiness. But to effect an abiding eternal happiness, we need to look within. Connect to your soul, know yourself, accept and love yourself, and all else will follow! Every human being on the planet should practice the art of meditation. "Heaven On Earth" by Stephen D'Amico provides an awesome understanding on how to access this source of bliss, that believe it or not, exists within all of us. We are not happy out of ignorance and neglect of our souls and our spirits. We look to "things" to fix this. They do not. Another aspect of "unhappiness" is negativity. We spend too much time complaining, resenting, envying, hating. These are all NEGATIVE emotions that will not make anyone feel good or get better. You project negativity, you will receive negativity. It's the law of attraction. Read Rhonda Byrne's "The Secret", and you'll be on your way to improving your life!

People think that happiness is assoicated is money, power and sex. They fail to realize that happiness is not found in the things we surround ourselves with, but in the thoughts that surround our mind .. If we should fill our minds with thoughts of truth, love and beauty then we will know happiness.

We don't know how to recognize happiness. It's within us, I believe. We can be happy, if only we decide so.

Those who are not happy, don't exercise their ability to accept things the way they are or change the things they can.

There's a poem about it called "The Serenity Prayer".
The prayer itself is addressed to God, but whether or not you believe in Him, the premise of it still makes sense.

I'm agnostic, by the way.

Well obviously you're not happy based on the chemicals in your brain..and the impules it radiates. If you feel sad, there is always an alternative, you can control how you want to feel. so in any situation, you should be in control, if you want the outcome in your favor, just try and control the moment. its like playing with fate..or not. since you stole a cookie, you're now in trouble and you should feel sad. just feel happy, and be like, "damn, mommy. you're good, i did it to see if you can catch me" hehe. lmao.

Desire.
When we desire things and do not have them we are unhappy. If we can accept what we have as being enough then we are happy.
This doesn't mean all monetary things. It also means emotional, spiritual and physical longings.
