I have a four day old baby, and his umbilical cord fell off this morning? I thought it was suppost to take like at least a week of two? Is this a bad thing? There are no signes of infection, or pain.

You must have taken very good care of the umbilical cord. Sounds like everything is just fine.
Enjoy your new baby.

This is normal. I have a 2 1/2 month old boy and his fell off the third day. Just keep it clean and try not to let to much water near it.

My first son lost his while still in the hosp( back in the days when they kept you in for a few days) but the other 3 were between 1-3 weeks

It's probably fine. Just call the peds office in the morning to be sure. And make sure you look deep inside the belly button and make sure there is nothing left inside, sometimes the outside dries and it breaks off.

Good luck

4 days does seem a little early, but if there is no infection and baby is happy then it's all right. :) Good job, Mom! If it does start to show any signs of anything best to call his PED.

They are all different. You got lucky. Our fifth baby, his stayed on for weeks before falling off. The others came off within a week. He's fine.

Was your baby born in a hosptial? If so, you can call the nursery and ask the head nurse on duty. P.S. Best Wishes!

It isn't red or bloody? That's really odd. Personally, I would call the doctor's office in the morning.
