What is a fun game to play in the car on a road trip?

I am not talking about using electronic devices here. (DVD, PSP, etc.)

play a letter game - find letters on billboards, signs, etc. see who finds all of the letters first and wins!

We used to play eye spy where you would spy something and the others would try to guess what it was that you spied. Of course you give them a clue. Then we used to play the alphabet game. Following the flow of the alphabet we would start with A and try to find it on road signs or license plates etc, until we reached Z. Then there was the game were you asked the person would they rather eat a worm or jump off a 50 foot cliff into the water, and variations of that type. You get to learn a lot about people.

Punch buggie is painful and so is bloody knuckles but you can draw while sitting in the car or grab a graphic novel like Naruto and read a whole stack of them. That is what I had to do since I was on a Road Trip across the US with nothing but pencil, a notebook and a stack of Shonen Jump to pass by the time. Most of the time I read the magizines or drew Naruto characters but it got old fast and I had to stare out the window. Going through Texas was awful...There was no music stations in the dessert parts so the only thing that was playing was my dad's Whitney Houston's bodyguard CD.
While I was sitting there all I heard was "AND IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!"

The game i always play is have a list of all 50 states before you leave. Then while in the car try to check as many lisence places with that sates name on it off.

Their is a game you play after dark you watch the cars and the ones with one head light, you yell out paddille and you get the point,who ever has the most points wins the game.

I like the license plate one where you try to guess what they say. It works the best with abbreviated vanity plates where you have to guess what they stand for ( M2 SXY = I'm too sexy). But it also works with regular plates, by just making up what you think it should stand for.

Also, each person could pick a color of car to look for ( red, blue, white, black, etc) and see who could count the most cars of their color.

20 questions is always good too. Animal, vegetable or mineral ??? :P

make up phrases from license plates that describe the car or the driver -- for example -- 123 EBT -- EBT could stand for Eats Buttered Toast, or Energetic Boob Tester -- you get the idea. Fun and Free!

the cow game. every time you pass cows (whos everside they are on) count them and they get the points a running total. until you pass a cemetary then whos ever side they are on loses their cows and starts back at zero
