I am considering a doctorate at u of phoenix. I recently finished a Masters there but it was on campus. The Doctoral programs however are all online. I am a little unsure about it though. I guess I am a bit of an old fashion student. If someone could shed some light please share.......... I just need a little help on this one. If some of you guys could help out I'd appreciate it.

You can do whatever you wish, but your doctorate will not be taken seriously in academia.

This is because PhD level study involves attending colloquia, seminars, lectures, and classes that require a community of scholars and ideas.

Doctoral study also requires close mentoring from an active scholar. U Phoenix employees are not active scholars who participate in national and international scholarly associations, publish in (and edit) prestigious journals, lecture widely, and have high profiles in their areas of study.
