Sadie Hawkins was a fictional character. She was the homeliest woman in DogPatch. This stems from the late cartoonist, Al Capp that introduced the character in Lil' Abner on one November 15 around 1939. Since then it influenced having a Sadie Hawkins Day celebration. Traditionally, unmarried women would chase after the unmarried men across a field. Any man caught would marry that woman shotgun style at the starting point of the race. This tradition caught on in several states until the 1960's when it died out. So will it be revised?

Women don't want to even marry anymore. Why would they want to chase and catch a man to have a shotgun marriage?LOL

Sadie Hawkins Day is Feb 29th. We used to have Sadie Hawkins Dances each 4 yrs in these right here constituents. It's when the gal asks the guy out. Or usually when the gal proposes marriage to the fellow! And the blokes run like heck! Lol
