This is one of my favorite games. Let the tap-dancing begin! Whenever I ask this question, I et the following from the Left: They furrow their troubled brows, scratch their pointy little heads, and then mutter something unintelligible about "war for oil". When I point out I wasn't asking about the cause, but rather if they would like to see us win, they tapdance a little more, mutter more inanities about "Bush lied and people died", and disregard the question. If I push them yet again for an answer, they'll usually sigh deeply and tell me how the war is "unwinnable". Again, I explain that's not what I was asking. Eventually, they will grudgingly admit that they do not want to see a US victory. They're proud of their sedition, as long as they aren't called on it.

I think it HAS to be won. As much as I want to, i don't think there is anyway we can just pull out of there without them being stable enough on their own. If we do, its creating this huge power vacuum and the group with the most arms and money will prevail and we will need to go back there again. Saddam may have been an evil viscous dictator, but he had control of his country.
Of course, anyone with a brain knew this BEFORE we got into Iraq. And i still don't know what the morons in DC were thinking. But hey, i guess it's not their kids dying over there to fight a war for bush's revenge. Just the working class kids who were trying to make a better life for them and their families.

definite. i might like an end to the conflict that we can look lower back on and say we did the sturdy for Iraq with as little mess and value as shall we. i want to look lower back and say we've been helpful and helpful, yet, i think of that's only too late now. i do no longer see how that could ensue, and that i do no longer see the way it could help us in the wider photograph to any extent further than pulling out might, whether that did ensue. I do only no longer think of that's a risk.

If by "winning" you mean Iraq turning into a western style country with peace and harmony between the Sunni, Kurds and Shiite, and no radical Muslim influences then yes of course I want that.
I also want to spend a night in a three-way orgy with Pamela Anderson & Brittney Spears but I know thats not going to happen either.

The war in Iraq that is happening now is between the Sunni and the Shai. So how can we win. We are in the position of someone trying to breakup a fight and getting hit by both sides. Let them run their own country. If they make a mess of it, then that is their problem.

If winning will create a stable government in Iraq. If winning will assist with the stopping of endless bloodshed in the Middle East by other Middle Easterners. If, by winning, we will can gain friendship and support from the Arab world. Then I all for winning.

Well of course I want a positive outcome to the Iraq War. That is why I stand with those who criticize the way the war is being handled. If it continues in the same vein, victory, of any sort, is not happening. I do not want the lives and limbs of our soldiers to be taken for nothing. If Bush would address the fact that until the politics are solved in Iraq no victory is possible, then we'll have a chance for a positive outcome. Until then the chaos will continue and our soldiers will continue to die.

Yes. Why would you even ask such an inane question? Should we want the billions of dollars, American lives lost, Iraqi lives lost all be for naught and Iraq to descend into civil war and a breeding ground for terrorism?

Yes. But I don't think what's going on in Iraq is a "war", necessarily.
