to the point that they need to make up malicious false accusations about her?

It is just the way they are. If you think politics is dirty these days this is mild compared to the early 1800s. Both major parties have tried to play dirty but historically the Republicans have been better at it than the Democrats. They want to discredit any real threat to their ideology because they know their ideology is not popular or good for America but want to shove it down the throats of Americans anyway. Senator Clinton calls them on their ideology and they can't stand it. That is why they went after her husband. He was able to successfully stop the neocon agenda causing Newt Gingrich to resign and so forth.

If they talk issues the Republicans lose so they have to resort to malicious and false accusations against Ms. Clinton and other Democrats in hopes of winning. People are now waking up to their tactics and if we campaign like crazy in '08 the message will be even louder and clearer that their policys are not what we want. When the Repbulicans took over control of Congress there was hope for positive change. They blew it, so now it is time the Democrats are given a chance. If they blow it over the next 8 or so years throw them out too and put Republicans back in. I think the Democrats are currently more in touch with American people today. They weren't always so but today they are more so than the Republicans who have become out of touch.

Once the Republican party dumps Dubya and the neocons they will be much better off.

I think she intimidates them because even after eight years of devoted investigation in the search for evidence against her and Bill over all sorts of trumped up garbage, they came up with zip. Couldn't even get an indictment. So it infuriates them that she may again be in the White House, as President this time. The Clintons were "rock star" popular and it made the Republicans seethe with resentment and hatred. Nothing has changed apparently. For the next two years, we will see outrageous accusations - they have already begun. For the most part though, it is old crap they've never been able to prove, and those Americans old enough to have experienced that once are going to dismiss it this time around for what it is - a pathetic attempt to demonize her.

The thing the Republican Hate Machine doesn't understand is that most Americans are on to them these days. They've had enough of it, along with the war - all one has to do is look at the mid-terms to see that. The socialist thing really cracks me up. Do these people even understand what a socialist is? Apparently, if you are a Democrat, you must be a socialist, it's almost gotten laughable. Universal health care is the launch pad for those accusations, but they conveniently ignore that many Republicans in both Houses are very interested in this concept as well. Guess they are socialists too...

she doesn't intimidate nobody I think she is funy lady...Strong and Inteligent I seen better...Remember if she was strong person she will leave her cheating husband so she is not strong she is a foolish one..Because a strong and Inteligent woman won't be marry to a cheater husband and that goes for any woman in the whole world...When a woman goes on living with a man that cheats on her just make seems like the females always will let a man do wetever they want just because they are a male. Tell when a strong person will let somebody walk all over them? Like they are a rug that anybody can walk all over that one...If she left a husband to do that to her that means she is weak one not strong..Got it...

Your hypothesis is wrong. Republicans aren't "intimidated" by Hilary, they just don't want to see her elected.

They are reminded of her efforts in the attempts of nationalization of healthcare, her association with a morally repugnant White House and her claims that all of Bill's indiscrete affairs were part of a "vast right wing consiparcy." Additionally, she's an opportunist who's unwilling to legislate other than by the polls.

It's all about votes. Bill won it twice, so there is fear Hillary can win it. About making up lies, that is a part of politics. They all lie. They are all self-serving to some extent. And, the American public allows it.

I am Independent and she does not intimidate me she scares me. She is the one that wants the government to take care of every ones kids. Have all the benefits in place to make raising kids so easy. Raising kids should not be easy it is hard work and if you have one you should not expect help from the government you should be ready to raise it alone. I agree if she can't demand respect from her own husband what other leader of a country can she get respect from?

Another question would be, of all those people who hate Hillary, how many of them really know what her policies are? I guarantee you they really don't know her policies but thinks she's a socialist which is the farthest thing from the truth there is.

She is a threat, she has a strong possibility of becoming the first woman president of the United States. Breaking into the old white man club is going to be difficult but I truly think she has a good chance and if she comes thought the primaries she will have my vote regardless of this hate that is spewed by the right. Character assassinations is how they have won the last two presidential election along with a little cheating.
