Yes. If they were legit, they would know at least your user name.

Hi
Yes this is a scam ,
a very lame one , techniques like these were used long time back to frighten people in disclosing their passwords, who ever is doing it is surely a outdated and backward computer hacker wannabe, ignore the msg, and better yet do not even open such emails.
regards

It's a scam! NEVER give your password to anyone! No Gaia staffmember will EVER ask you for these, because they already KNOW them! Report the PM immediately.

it has SCAM written all over it...
Gaia's administrators already have access to your account. Think about it. How else can they ban you if they really wanted to.
forward the letter to Gaia support (find the email on their website). but dont never, ever send username/password for any account u have online to *anybody*. they will hijack ur account...
be carefull!

Definitely a scam. Even Gaia advises you never to share your personal information, userID or passwords. Report it to Gaia in their contact us page.

YES!!! You should NEVER have to give out information like that. Anytime anyone emails you for personal info., passwords, etc., they are trying to scam you for something. If it was legitimate, they would not be asking for personal info.

Don't do it! Contact Gaia Online directly through their web site (not through the letter you received) and ask them to verify your account status.

humm this is a hard one. In today's society, it most likey was ... they are just trying to get your information so they can bombard you with even more hoaxes and free offers, hoping that one day, you'll take interest in one. I know that their are police officers out there who try to catch people doing things online. But this one more than likely was just a scam and if it was not, you can always create a new account! lol hope this helps!
