Excellent question!!!!

I think you should check the "Know your source" part of an answer or any other details a person uses.

I do not approve of the war in Iraq. But I do support the men and women of our (the USA's) armed forces. I've sent a few treats (www.treatsfortroops.com) and done what I can for them.

The men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces go wherever the Commander-in-Chief (President George Walker Bush) order them to go.

I do not presume to speak for anyone or any organization. I only speak for myself.

The only time I have ever mentioned the troops' stand on this war was after the military poll was conducted a month or so back, may have been a bit longer. I was shocked to see the change in their responses to the same questions asked of them a year earlier. The number of soldiers who were questioning why they were there and where this war was going had risen dramatically from the year before.

Some people who post on here have husbands, wives, relatives and friends over in Iraq and report what their loved ones are telling them, which is not out of line. For the most part, here on YA, people speak about the war itself and the way it is being handled, not the troops perspective on it. When we see soldiers on the news speaking about it, I don't think there is anything wrong with talking about what they have said, but we still don't see that here very often.

My opinions come from what my son told me of his beliefs and experiences in Iraq .
Can't speak for anyone else here.

I assume this is a non-partisan question. This is America, and the troops are ours.

We all have family and friends over there. And we do communicate with them, you know?

We also have history to review. Consider Vietnam? Do you remember the way our troops were treated by the anti-war sentiment? I do.

I'm actually a Sailor, and have been in Iraq on a IA (Individual Augmentation)...guess that qualifies me, right?

Oh wait, someone will call me a liar.

most are not speaking for the troops but rather their opinion...this is a constitutional right...one of the few our present govt. (both dems & reps.) has not succeeded in stifling...altho they tried with House Bill 1, Section 220!

Cons think the troops are sacred cows, and they own the rights to defending them and caring about them.

You don't need to be "qualified".
Look at all the Hollywood actors and actresses who think their fame somehow amounts to "qualification"!
