For an article in an automobile history journal, a friend is doing some research into the life of a prominent businessman (now deceased) from Honolulu.

The "official" historical sources, like the state history society and the Chamber of Commerce, don't have much information on him. Anybody have any links for amateur historians familiar with the business and automotive history of Hawaii, specifically Honolulu?

If you're really serious about writing a historically accurate article, I suggest that you contact the Hawai'i Pacific Collection at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa; they have an amazing collection of historical documentation and materials that pertains to Hawai'i.

MAILING ADDRESS:

Also contact the Hawaiian Historical Society (URL below)

The Chamber of Commerce is all about business; they are NOT historians. You're better off with a librarian!

If you are talking about Pflueger, just google "Pflueger hawaii"

Johann Carl Pflueger, who arrived in Hawai'i at the age of 16. Through living a highly disciplined life, young Pflueger quickly advanced in business in Honolulu. Hackfeld and Pflueger both became close friends of the Hawaiian monarchy. Pflueger's descendants own the Honolulu automobile agency of the same name.
