you just keep on thats how. you have to, especially if you have children. my mother taught me something, and she is gone now, to always remember, no matter how bad off you are, there is always someone worse off than you are. always. and when i start feeling sorry for myself, i think of the mothers who have children in st jude hospital all swollen from chemo crying in pain and i wonder where they get the strength to carry on...even though they know their child is going to die. i know it sounds brutal, but it is a fact of life. then i say a prayer for these children and their families and thank god my only problem was the electricity being turned off. you will make it, i know you will.

I would see if you can start a new account. But, of course, they may not let you start a new account without paying off the old one. See what the balance is, let the company know your situation, and then develop a plan to have it paid off as soon as possible. If you are not working, this will pose a problem. You may have to move to cheaper lodgings, get a job, etc. Be proactive and don't ignore bills. It doesn't help. I know this from experience, unfortunately. My husband is a classic bill ignorer who still relapses, at weak moments, into old habits. Oh yeah, and don't forget this little piece of advice...he left you, don't take him back.

Apply for welfare. You'll get a check and foodstamps, and you can also apply for energy assistance. Plus the Welfare office will go after him for child support. You can make it sweetie. I did twice, and I raised 4 children all by myself. Welfare can help you until you can get on your feet and find a job.

I know this sux, but learn from mistakes. Next time get things put in your name also. My wife has all utilities in her name and it also builds up her credit rating by doing this.
