hey...i'm over 30 and I played soccer when I was younger!!! the thing is that it hasn't been integrated into many school programs dso kids get exposed to it...I never played it on an organized team then either, only on the playground. even today, most schools put their money into football, basebvall and basketball before soccer...
I really don't unerstand why soccer isn't more popular here in the US..most of the young kids I know play soccer -my nephew is crazy about it! but i see that as they get to high school it seems to fade away from school programs...it's sad because it's a great sport for both males AND females, really doesn't cost as much as football or baseball gear wise...well, in my opinion it isn't...and it is a good type of workout ...i enjoy watching many kinds of sports, and yes football is fine but I still admire the skill of a soccer player more.
and I agree..coverage of soccer in the US stinks! ...thank goodness for cable and the internet!

Because until recently soccer wasn't offered as a sports for kids within the Last oh 10 years its hit America hard. With more and more of are children playing. I'm sure it might pick up but I can't even name the US soccer teams nor the city who has team. There is current only a small audience when it grow so with the TV market. First thing is that we have to get educated on soccer and know the rules.. Yes we have to figure out some way for commercials. It will never be Americans number one sport we are to stuck in our way of thinking. We could be number 4.

most people older than 30 do not know the rules and schools did not offer soccer as a sport. about 20 years ago schools started soccer programs so it may take a few more years to get a fan base for TV. personaly i have absolutely no interest in soccer and probably never will.

think of approximately it Tom. usa of america has the substances, maximum toddlers that improve up in usa of america are enjoying soccer, basketball, baseball, hockey, karate, and so on. and so on... We additionally play soccer yet is way less elementary. Now think of approximately Mexican worldwide places. soccer being an extremely low fee interest to play and safeguard because it in basic terms demands a ball and a pair issues to kick between is ideal for worldwide places that isn't be able to extremely arise with the money for the different bigger activities equipment. From a cultural attitude, why isn't usa of america super into ping pong? as a results of fact our ancestors did not play ping pong like activities for centuries like the chinese language. whilst becoming up, some activities are extremely straight forward to get into do the cultural availability and financial substances. the comparable and opposite could be reported for foreign places worldwide places. That being reported, if usa of america grew to become into culturally adept in soccer, lots extra toddlers could be becoming up enjoying soccer as a consequence usa of america could be lots extra effective at soccer as an entire.

Personally, I think soccer is interesting to watch and it is very competitive. However, the lack of scoring doesn't excite me as much as a long distance pass for a touchdown or a great rush to the end zone.

because you dont have time for commercials even three minutes
in America it is not about sports, but about selling commercials. A sport that is continuous for 45 minutes doesnt fit the bill

Cuz for some weird reason the majority of the population is obsessed with watching cars going around in circles and men in tight pants slide around on their butts after running around in circles... the US is obviously sports challenged... it makes me embarrassed to admit that I'm American myself...

yes it is, as is basketball, hockey, baseball, tennis, golf... basically every sport known to man is better than soccer. soccer is not the #1 sport in the US because we are the only country who has realized the stupidity of the "sport".
