Nearly the same thing that George Bush did. His response was good. Right after 9/11 happened George Bush had a 80% approval rating, this carried through the invasion of Afghanistan, he didn't start to lose support until he invaded Iraq and his continue stay the course mentality has cost him his political capital and is costing him his legacy. The events of 9/11 were a binding for this country. We came together and were one. He has squandered all of that and more and I haven't seen this country so divided in philosophy since the 1970's and the Vietnam war.

Go into Afghanistan, take out the Taliban, capture Osama bin Laden, repair anything we destroyed in the process, make sure we leave the country in a better condition than when we arrived.
I would have our troops go into Afghanistan, go after our enemies; Iraq though had nothing to do with 9/11, so I wouldn't even think of invading that country if I were president

History will prove George W. Bush correct. If there is no peace in the middle east the world is doomed. Iran is next people so get your anti US protest signs ready.
If it was a Democrat in the White House I wonder how many left wing liberals would be protesting?
Did you see that crowd at the anti war protest? They don't care about the issues...slam dancing, hate speech and spitting on people with whom they don't agree? Sick.

Although I am not antiwar per se,I will answer anyway, I believe I would have gone after the ones who actually attacked us and not someone who is no threat to our country. So it is not that many people are anti war they are anti THIS war. Why? for the reasons given and the lies etc. that were perpetrated by the Administration.

I would have done exactly what President Bush did. With one exception:
I would not have allowed the Military leaders to second guess the special forces on the ground, and I would have told the ground forces to use any means necessary to stop Bin Laden from crossing into Pakistan.
I would have told the UN to pound sand into the 4th point of contact, and killed every single person suspected of being Taliban or al-Queda. There would be no foreign non uniformed combatants at Gitmo, they would all be dead.

The first step I should make is conducting a comprehensive investigation to discover exactly who behind this crime and to determine the steps required to the reaction.Reaction and punishment should be taken according to International law and not according to power I have.I should consider not to harm any state or organization not related to what happen and I should make the investigation conclusion accessible for the American people.

going to Afghanistan was fine, that was the nexus of the problem and perfectly justified. Cheney Bush and others took advantage of the shocked and awed US public and used the opporutnity to prosecute a power grab in Iraq.

Yeah, glamour wouldn't have been in a classroom when it happened because she is psychic and would have predicted that the attack was coming, but she would have let it happen anyway. Interesting.
They would shake their fingers at Al Queida and tell them not to do it again. Then, they'd give them a couple billion dollars for nuclear weapons. Isn't that what Clinton and his group did with North Korea when they threatened?
