Take Vince Carter off that list, and replace it with Gilbert Arenas... Good job leaving off Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady also. But if you really want an opinion on those players...
Dwight Howard is an amazing young player who will be an all-star power forward/center for years to come. However, if you're looking for immediate effect, go with Amare or Allen Iverson...Iverson has shown that he can pass the ball now along with his scoring frenzy, and amare is just a beast under the boards. Final decision...Amare Stoudamire.

Out of the players you listed I would honestly have to say Allen Iverson has established himself as one of the greatest to still be in the NBA. His numbers remain consistent and he is beginning to dish the ball out to bring his assists up. Not to mention, he averages 2 steals per game. I noticed out of the 8 players listed, only Rip Hamilton has a championship. Doesn't mean that he's better than Vinsanity or Carmelo at all!

when you're judging guys from different positions then it makes it hard to say who is better. Dwight Howard is a better rebounder and shot blocker than those guys. Iverson is the best scorer. Paul plays the best defense. Hamilton has the best in between game. I suppose if I had to pick the best all around player on that list it would be Vince Carter because he can pretty much do it all very well

I would have to say chris Paul
he is still young and can score 30 while getting 10 assists
he has the most potential
melo is amazing but paul has more capability and is more consistent
all the others players are very good but they are in the midpoint or end in their carreer
