It is always good to keep he mouth shut and ears open during the formatie stage oif your life .since it is the time during which you must add to your kmowledge .you must open your mouth only after you have accumulated enough of knowledge to share with others .it is like earning before spending .but so far as knowledge is concerned ,m the more yo spend tha more your earn. You do not lose your knowledge however much you share it with others. The tongue has no bones . but it can break steel and bones if misused . so it is bettere to keep the mouth shut and the ears open till you have learnt enough to share freely with others

Quiet is good, for the most part. Here is what I found on the subject; Keeping to yourself is not a bad thing! Perhaps the teacher wants to hear you share your knowledge and understanding of the subject at hand or use you as a positive example to others.....
“The one who understands does not speak; the one who speaks does not understand”
“To speak and to speak well, are two things. A fool may talk, but a wise man speaks.”
“The monotony and solitude of a quiet life stimulates the creative mind.”
“One difference between a man and a machine is that a machine is quiet when well oiled”
“In quiet places, reason abounds”
“Cultivate solitude and quiet and a few sincere friends, rather than mob merriment, noise and thousands of nodding acquaintances”
“I lived in solitude in the country and noticed how the monotony of a quiet life stimulates the creative mind”
“A happy life must be to a great extent a quiet life, for it is only in an atmosphere of quiet that true joy dare live”
“The good and the wise lead quiet lives.”
“It's better to keep quiet and have people think you stupid, than to talk and confirm it.”
“There are two kinds of people who don't say much, those who are quiet and those who talk a lot.”
“Never for the sake of peace and quiet deny your convictions.”

The same thing used to happen to me. I often found nothing to say, or was uncomfortable with my speaking. Because of my insecurity, I changed my ways and became loud and outspoken to please others. I did not use sense in my speaking, and did not have a clear mind. Now it is different, for my quietness is no longer because of timidness, but because I have learned to be 'quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to wrath.' I consider everything I say, for I do not like to talk idly. I do not enjoy meaningless chatter. My teachers no longer encourage me to talk, because I believe that they can see that I have this quiet spirit, not because I am shy or timid, but because I am cautious and alert. I find beauty in a quiet soul. Just do not feel insecure--continue to use logic in your every word with confidence. Perhaps the teacher is simply encouraging you to become more involved in the subject discussion.
I encourage you to live an honest life (truly possible through Christ, who lives inside every believer) so that you have nothing to hide or so that you can confidently answer every question without shame--if that is the problem.

Being quiet is peaceful. And that is great!! But in class participation is just a preparation for the outside world around you. You should participate some, it will keep you from withdrawing. You may find that you like putting in your two cents worth in class and someday it may benefit you. You have to balance out the quiet and the participating in order for your life to be stable. YEP YEP YEP!!

there's nothing at all wrong with being quiet. maybe your teacher is concerned that it may be lack of confidence or something but if it isn't and you're happy the way you are stay as you are.
too often people assume that being quiet is a sign of no confidence, sometimes it is but not always.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being quiet. you do not always have to speak out. but, if you are being quiet because of fear you may want to find ways to overcome your fears and build your confidence

its like a driving test, its no good moving your eyes to look in your mirrors the instructor wants you to move your head in the direction of the left or right mirror so he knows your doing the job right. if you know the answer and dont say anything teacher dont know wether your dum or bright, if your shy here is a method of breaking in, shout out answers that are stupid but gets a good laugh, to break ice, then shout out ones that are correct, it will be good for you confidence.

perhaps she theory you have been lonely? some people won't be able to understand that others like being by skill of themselves. i does no longer hassle approximately it, there's no longer something incorrect with you or everyone else. everyone seems to be man or woman - think of how uninteresting it could be if we've been each and each of a similar?
