The "conservative" highjacking of the Republican party is depends entirely on blind faith. The Republican party is the party that stands for/looks out for the interests of big business. (They are pro pollution, pro tax breaks for big business, pro wars in countries that profit big oil, etc etc, the list is long and irrefutable.) BUT in a democracy, a party that honestly admitted that they were for the interests of the most wealthy, would have NO chance to win a popular election. SO, the Republicans are forced to ask, "Which Americans are most gullible, easily fooled, and emotionally charged? And how can we win their votes?"
The answer are: Those who are uneducated, are comfortable with blind faith, and those who have strong beliefs about issues like abortion and gay marriage. And as you can see, the Republicans have wooed the vote of the religious, uneducated, anti-abortion, anti gay, Americans. And it has worked for them for 2 decades!
They got too greedy over the last 6 years though, and got us bogged down in an unecessary and unwinable war, ignored the environment and manipulated gas and oil prices to maximize their profits. And now 70% of America is wise to them.
They will try the same crap in 08 that has worked for them before, and I hope America is smart enough that they don't fall for it again. Just think of Charlie Brown and Lucy with the football... "C'mon Charlie Brown, just kick it! Would I be stupid enough to try to pull it away AGAIN???"
Don't fall for the Republicans' lies America!

Faith in what? Everyone has faith in something. Liberals have faith in socialism, despite it's repeated failures.
Christians have faith in God
Atheists have faith in themselves.
Everybodies agenda is based in faith.

Seems the question varies with which liberal is answering.
In fact 'blind faith' is not really something any politician goes by. I would say convictions and moral standing have more to do with it.

Could you expand your question by defining what you mean by "blind faith"? Thanks
