Honestly it is the best book for anyone who wants to WORK. This is a straight up book that tells it like it is. In the intro they let you know that of the over 150,000 professional actors around 1% get paid over $100,000 a year.
However if you have the drive and the "IT' factor nothing can stop you!

The best way is to know people in the business to get you in. Network as much as you can - show up at the right places and meet the right people and you could have a chance....it is extremely hard to get into.
I agree - send out your resume and your pics everywhere, and follow up to show that you are actively trying to achieve your dream.

You need to get a resume and a head shot together and then send them out to all agents accepting resumes. Depending on the city you are in you can buy listing books of all of the agents (I know Toronto has one) OR sometimes you can find lists on line. After you send out the packages......wait........wait......and then begin calling. "I was just calling to insure that my package arrived to your office." Agents receive HUNDREDS of packages and many just get tossed on a desk. If you don't call they may not look at it and it may just get tossed in the trash.
