A hero isn't someone who saves you by shooting up in the sky and catching the bad guy. To me, a hero is my mom, she is the only person i can look up to, to really help me, and pay attention. She is someone to talk to, and throughout all the problems i've had in the past, she is still there for me, and she has never givin up on me. Since i have a mother, who has disciplined me when i've made bad grades, i now make the best grades i can.(98 in english, 96 in biology) which i remember about 5 years ago, i had 19 zeros in english. (nobody will let me live in down) and its for her, that i won't let a guy hit me, or use me, you know, if i know that he is with another girl, up its over! my mom, is my best teacher, she has told me not to tell a guy i love him unless i mean it. I've dated a few, only told two. She is my provider, my source. No matter what goes between us, she has never stopped caring for me. I know i've said things to her i didn't mean in the past, but she has never held that against me. and i thank her for that, because she is more special to me than kel(from kenan and kel) loves orange soda. ha ha..old show..but seriously she is my hero. She, is my definition of a hero. She doesn't wan't me to think she's perfect. So to me, a hero is simply someone who is there, not an idol on tv, but someone who will always be there for you.

Someone who is good to others and makes a difference in their lives. It's not what a hero says that makes him a hero. It's what he DOES. Are you a hero?

Lykken (1982) argued that heroes and [socio]paths are two sides of the same coin. For example, Chuck Yeager, a heroic test pilot, once concealed broken ribs that he had suffered in a wild midnight horseback ride so that he could go aloft in the belly of a B-29, wedge himself in a tiny cockpit of the X-1 rocket plane, and let himself be jettisoned at an altitude of 26,000 feet to become the first person to travel faster than the speed of sound. And Ted Bundy was a charming, intelligent, and articulate [socio]path who left a coast-to-coast trail of brutal and sadistic murders of young women. Lykken believes that heroes and [socio]paths share one characteristic – namely, fearlessness....

Although very fearless children are difficult to bring up, circumstances and family environment may play crucial roles. Those who have the opportunity to channel their fearlessness into socially approved activities (such as being a test pilot) and who are socialized in families that emphasize warm and loving relationships rather than punishment techniques may be less likely to become [socio]paths… People who are relatively fearless, such as heroes and [socio]paths, may [also] have a greater tendency to choose the frightening or embarrassing alternative than do fearful people.

A Submarine Sandwich. The long sandwich featuring layers of meat and cheese on a crusty Italian roll goes by a variety of names. Submarine, sub, and hero are widespread. Localized terms are bomber (upstate New York), wedge (downstate New York), hoagie (Delaware Valley, including Philadelphia and southern New Jersey), grinder (New England), Cuban sandwich (Miami), Italian sandwich (Maine), Italian (southern Midwest), and poor boy (New Orleans, before Katrina) now goes by soggy boy.

Yeah, I'll have a Pepperoni, Italin Sausage, Ham and Salami Hero with everything on it.

Someone who goes above and beyond what most people would do.

I think all of us are Hero's at some time or another. We just don't recognize our own heroic actions because they are not always flashy things. Giving a down on their luck person money is heroic when you yourself are poor. Giving a lonely person time when you are short of time is heroic. Giving forgiveness to someone who doesn't deserve it really heroic. Being kind to strangers is something that seems to be difficult for a lot of people, so I think that even just plain old kindness is heroic.

A hero to me would be someone who doesn't hesitate to put his own life in danger to save another human life. Take the example of the man that threw himself on top of the man that had a seziure and feel on to the subway tracks .! this man jumped on to the tracks and covered the man with his own body to save his life. I think this man was awesome and deserved the national attention he got. We all need to know there are good, caring people left in this cruel world. Don't you all agree? what the world needs now is love, sweet love. sounds like a song, doesn't it.

simply put; a hero is someone who happens to be in the wrong place at the right time to do the wrong thing for the right reason...think about it.

A hero is a solitary figure who courageously and perseveringly fights for that which is good, usually in a self-effacing way.
He is predominantly characterized by his great character, especially he must be completely honest and also somewhat humble in spite of his boldness.
