elementary.

preschool is just bonus day care. kindergarten is where most of it starts............ kids should be exposed to tons of books and other kids ahead of time so i think daycare and preschool are extremely important though.

Usually your first school in the U.S. is elementary school when a child is five years old. Some children are in daycare before that and have some preparation there. Nursery school is usually about ages 3 and 4. Also, recently some tutoring agencies are having early preparation for children before kindergarten to give them a head start.
