a active x is a program like macromedia flash player that is a active program that runs in web pages
its obviously your anti-virus or if you are not using the windows firewall, then your firewall,if its your firewall bt broadband runs best with the windows firewall as the hub has a internal firewall, and you may need to disable your anti-virus while you install the active x
when you get this message there should be a yellow security bar at the top of your browser page, you need to click this and then (if you trust the site/page)install active x control
you will then see a box with install/dont install in it,choose install and then thats it!
some active x programs will have a installer, just install the active x program the same way as you would with a game/application
i have bt yahoo(bt home hub) and its perfectly safe,so any security concerns that arise ,just allow them
good luck
