If you got it done only two months ago, it may not be completely healed and you shouldn't take it out. Taking out a piercing that isn't fully healed will lead to infections and a lot of pain. Plus, a rook piercing is really hard to take out and put back in and will cause your ear to swell up, making it harder to put the jewelery back in.

However, if it is healed, all you need to do is pull it apart for the captive bead to fall out. I suggest standing somehwere that it'll be easy to find the ball if you lose track of it. I have a terrible time with captive beads and always go back to a professional piercer to have them take it out for me (about $5). That way I don't have to worry about putting extra strain on the cartilidge and losing the ball.

The ball should pop out with a little tension. You can also use a clean pair of needle nose pliers to pry the bar apart and then take the ball out. Make sure after you pry the bar apart that you tighten it back togather again or you will loose your ball. There are loops and rings you can buy at your local tattoo parlor or piercing dealer that are clear and cant usually be seen from a distance. I dont suggest you you take this piercing out for any amount of time. You could easily get an infection. Infections in this area can be very hard to cureup over time, and can cause ear problems if unattended.
